GEORGE W. CALBOTH, a veteran of the Civil war, was born in Williamson county, Illinois, on July 11, 1835, the son of John and Polly (Henderson) Calboth. In 1861 he enlisted in Williamson county in Company C, Thirty-first Illinois Regiment, and served in the Army of the Tennessee for four years. He was wounded at the battle of Fort Donelson. After the war he came to Ohio and has since made his home with Paul Peterson, of Bartlow township, this county. Of late years he spends his winters at the National Soldiers' Home, Dayton, Ohio.
