Obituary:

The widow of Elliot Gunn living west of Napoleon, in Napoleon township, died Saturday from pneumonia. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church, Tuesday, Rev. I. N. Kalb in charge of services. Remains interred in Glenwood cemetery. Mrs. Gunn was at time of her death 65 years, 9 months and 7 days old, and up to some time ago enjoyed fairly good health. She was then taken with rheumatism which confined her to the house. Several weeks since her malady developed into pneumonia and the end was not slow in coming. She was the mother of a large family, a family grown to man's estate all of whom are credit and honor to honest and industrious parents. Mrs. Gunn was one of the oldest pioneers in Henry county, having moved here from Miami county in 1847. Shortly after coming here she was married to Elliot Gunn and man and wife settled on land in Napoleon township which by thrift and hard work developed into one of the finest farms in Henry county. For nearly half a century they lived together on the farm, bearing each other's burdens, sharing each other's toils. The husband was called to join the silent majority several years since and by his death a home, happy for so many years, was wrecked. The wife's death completed the work of desolation and sorrowing children assume the parents' station.
