| Obituary: Last Wednesday morning John Reidelbaugh, Sr., departed for his labor on the Bigford place south of Napoleon in good health and spirits. In the evening be was brought home a corpse. As far as known be was well up to within an hour of dinner time when he was seen to drive his horses to an apple tree where it to supposed he went to rest About one o'clock Mrs. Miller, who resides on the place, noticed the horses still standing near the tree, and suspecting something wrong, investigated. She found Mr. Reidelbaugh sitting with his back to a tree, dead. She at once notified Gottlieb Hess who summoned a physician. The unfortunate man, however, was beyond all human aid, and the remains were brought to his home later in the afternoon. It is difficult to assign a direct cause of his death, but the most reasonable supposition is that he was sunstruck. His dinner was found untouched with the exception of the coffee. The funeral was held Friday, Rev. Puetz officiating, and the remains were interred in the Catholic cemetery south of the river. | ||
