A little seven-year old son of Jas. Shay died last Friday night, after extreme suffering for number of days. In order to possibly save the little one's life an operation was performed by Drs. Shoemaker and Harrison, assisted by Dr. Haly, on Friday evening, the boy dying a few minntes after. The operation revealed the fact that the bowels were badly inflamed and decomposition had already set in. It was a miracle that the child lived as long as it did in this condition. Mr. and Mrs. Shay have the deep sympathy of the community in their sad affliction.

Mr. and Mrs. Shay request us to return their heartfelt thanks to those kind friends who rendered them assistance and consolation in the hour of their recent trial and affliction, the death of their little son. The administrations of these friends will always be remembered and their prayer is that like affliction may never come to them.
