Obituary:

Again the Grim Reaper has marked two more victims of this Post, Comrades John M. Shoemaker and Silas Wright, who have joined the innumerable throng who have gone before as advance guard of the Grand Army in that Campaign which has no ending, and in which hardships and trials are unknown, and in which the Great Father of as all is the Grand Commander. They have answered to their names at the last earthly roll all and laid down their arms and gathered around the final bivouac where they shall be called no more to battle. Therefore, be it resolved, That the sympathies of this Post be tendered to the bereaved families of these, our late comrades. Resolved, that as a mark of respect the Post Hall be draped in mourning for thirty days. Resolved, that a copy of these resolutions be furnished the Napoleon papers for publication.
