It becomes our sad duty as chroniclers of current events and misfortunes to note the death of Mrs.. Mary Suydam, wife of our fellow townsman. Richard W. Suydam. Her demise is due to a deep seated disease of long standing, a tumor with, towards the end, dropsy. She died Monday evening at eleven o'clock surrounded by the family and relations. Fifty-seven years and one day old, her life has been an exemplary one on that particularly robs death of its horror for the departed and the grief and regret of those left to mourn the loss of a kind and loving wife and mother. Nor is the grief attendant to her departure confined to relatives alone. Living in Napoleon for over thirty years Mrs. Suydam has made a legion of friends who not only sympathize with the relatives, but also mourn her death. Her married life embraces a period of forty years having 2 sons and 6 daughters, 6 of whom are living. The funeral will be held Friday at 10 o'clock, Rev. Ballmer officiating. from the residence on Clinton street.
