| Obituary: Obituary Died, in the triumphs of a living faith in Christ, at 12:50 P.M. April 4th, 1874, ANN ELIZA, wife of J. W. Taylor, at the age of 31 years, 1 month and 17 days. The deceased suffered severely during her entire affliction, which lasted several weeks, but she bore it all without a murmur. From the first of her affliction she was impressed with the thought of her death. And notwithstanding the encouragements of her friends and Physicians in trying to cheer her up, she still thought the time of her departure was at hand. Mrs. TAYLOR was a sweet spirited woman, a true and faithful wife, a kind and affectionate mother. Her death was an exhibition of the truth of the Gospel. All who witnessed her triumphant death were constrained to say let my last end be like hers. She seemed to understand almost the moment of her departure. After passing through a severe struggle with the last enemy, she call all her friends and kidded them good-bye; she then said sing. We sang, "Fade every earthly joy, Jesus is mine." And as we sang she fled away to the land of the blessed. A husband, two children and many friends feel their loss. But in the midst of the sorrows of life they can look back upon the example of the precious one who said follow me as I follow Christ. |
