A Grain of Wheat
Peculiar Cause of Death of Preeminent Napoleon Man
John Delventhal, a farmer residing near Napoleon, has lost his life owing to a grain of wheat. Delventhal was threshing about two weeks ago and a grain of wheat fell into his shoe. It annoyed him considerably at the time, but he did not stop to remove the grain until evening, and then found a blister on the bottom of his foot. Blood poison set in, and amputation of the limb was necessary. Delventhal grew rapidly worse and died from the effects of blood poison.
