Word of the death Mrs. Burt Halverson (Lelah Mellott) of Redding, California has been received by friends in Deshler. Lelah died May 30 after suffering many years from cancer. She is survived by her husband Burt. Lelah graduated from Deshler High School in 1926. She left Deshler after graduation, returning to her home state, teaching in Montana and Wyoming for sometime. She was not able to attend her 50th class reunion i 1976, but all of her class talked with her in the evening when they held their "Get-together." Through all these years, she kept in contact with us, and she will be missed. Our sympathy is extended to her faithful, devoted husband.
