Wednesday morning of this week about 3 o'clock in Holgate, Frank Engel died after a lengthy illness. The funeral service will be Friday morning at 9:30 in the former home and 10 o'clock in the German Lutheran Church in Holgate under the direction of Pastor H.A. Bentrup. Additional concerning the death will be reported next week.
Mrs. George Parker
In the home of her daughter, Mrs. Frank Morris, between Jewell and Florida, Mrs. George Parker died Sunday morning after a two year illness, at the age of 70 years. She had lived in this area for 30 years and leaves behind a widower, four sons and a daughter. Her remains were buried yesterday morning from the Methodist Church in Florida.
Christine Engelhardt
On Tuesday morning of the past week, to Mr. & Mrs. Heinrich and Maria Engelhardt, residing at No. 1007 Francis Street, a baby daughter was born who unfortunately died the following morning. The burial took place Thursday from the family home under the direction of Pastor W. H. Bunge. At the baptism shortly following the birth, the little one received the name Christine.
J. W. Loar
By his daughter Mrs. S. R. Cadwallader, residing here at 801 Deatrick Street, J. W. Loar died about 9 o'clock Friday evening at the age of 62 years. Just in the summer past, he moved here from Hershey, Mich., and had made his home with his daughter. Sunday morning, the remains, after a funeral service led by Pastor C. A. Smucker, were taken for burial to Jackson Township in Paulding county.

Widow of George Fritsche
On Saturday afternoon, in her parents' home near Standley, the widow of George Fritsch who was killed in an accident a few years ago on the B&O line at Hamler, r died after a lengthy illness from consumption at only 31 years of age. Two small sons remain behind. The burial took place Monday morning under the direction of Pastor R. E. M. Engers from the English Lutheran Church by Standley to Riverside cemetery.
Frank Partee
After a lengthy siege of sickness, Frank Partee died Tuesday evening about 9 o'clock in his home on East Hopkins street at the age of about 55 years, leaving behind a widow with two daughters and one son. Burial will probably take place on Friday afternoon.

Frank Roberts
The mortal remains of Frank Roberts were brought to Defiance last Saturday from Mount Pleasant, Mich., and in the afternoon were lowered into a grave in Mt. Zion cemetery, south of here. Roberts, who entered the afterlife on Tuesday of the previous week, was 50 years less a few days and leaves behind a widow with four children. Defiance county was his home in earlier years.
Charles F. Clemons
As the result of a chronic stomach disease, on Tuesday night about eleven o'clock, Charles F. Clemons died in his home on Holgate Avenue. He was born in June of the year 1833, in Frederick county, Virginia, therefore his age was 73 years and 4 months. During the [Civil] wartime he lost, in the course of a few days, his wife and three children to diphtheria and then came to this area, where he re-married. His second wife, a daughter and two sons survive him; one lives in Wichita, Kan., the other in Springfield, Ohio. For many years Charles F. Clemons had a shoemaker shop in Brunersburg, then he moved to Defriance and worked here in Harley's shoe store, until his illness called a halt.
The burial will probably take place Friday morning from the English Methodist Church.

Mrs. Gertrud Rhynard
After a lengthy siege of illness, on Monday morning in the family home on Front Street, Mrs. Gertrud Rhynard, wife of Frank Rhynard, in age 32 years, 6 months and 16 days, died of consumption. She was born in Germany, the eldest daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Georg and Mathilde Wilsberg residing here on Washington Street, and came with her parents to Defiance in about 1886. In 1889 she married Frank Rhynard, who survives her with two daughters and one son. Besides her [immediate] family and her parents, the deceased leaves behind a brother Georg in Garrett, as well as a sister Miss Christine and a brother Frank here in Defiance.
The mortal remains of this woman, so untimely torn from the circle of her family, were taken to the grave Wednesday afternoon, from the Baptist Church to Riverside cemetery.
