Concerning the passing of Hermann August Fenter of New Bavaria, Ohio, Pastor Albin Beer reports to us:
On Sunday we laid to his final rest the mortal remains of Hermann August Fenter, eldest son of Mr. & Mrs. John A and Maria Fenter. Hermann was born on 17 September 1888 here in New Bavaria, was baptized on 14 October of the same year by Pastor J. L. Schatz, and on 23 March 1902 was confirmed and received into the Reformed congregation here by Pastor Friedrich Schaad.
On Thursday, the 4th of October, he suddenly took sick with appendicitis, but appeared to recover, until on Wednesday, the 10th of October, a setback occurred. on that same evening shortly before eight o'clock, his Lord released him from his pain and took him to Himself.
The deceased was only 18 years and 23 days old. His premature death is mourned by his parents, two brothers and a sister along with many more distant relatives.

Obituary for my Friend Daniel Spieth.
Too many heavy strokes of Fate Struck you, o Daniel! Deep indeed are God's ways. But for you it seemed too much. As your wife was torn from you The pain was too great for you; Finally even to miss home And that is what befell.
Many hard battles fought, Much sour work completed; And so your course ended! O who would have thought That you would succumb Under the all too great burden? Dear friend! Rest now in Peace, Where you rest from sorrow have.
You have gained many friends, Were beloved by everyone. Ach, too soon are you dead. Take you, God, the orphan in, May his soul be blessed, Despite [this] he was a good Christian, Memorable to his friends and neighbors! They mourn him deeply.
Now dry the tears And still the lamentation, Your sighs and longings Are eternally well fulfilled. This example shall teach us, That we all -- young and old -- Shall take our refuge in Him: Trust in God shall be our end!

Henry Carl Baker
Henry Carl Baker of south Richland [who] had the operation of which one hoped for the cure of the lately so common appendicitis, did not survive for long. The disease was already too far advanced, albeit the symptoms on Wednesday -- on the day after the operation -- appeared to lessen favorably, at 3 o'clock Thursday morning the patient died. On 12 February 1906, the deceased had entered his 53th year of life and is survived by his wife and a 14 year old son. He also leaves behind a brother Peter Baker in Pleasant Township, Henry county and a sister named Mrs. Anna Reese in Williams county.
In Henry Earl Baker we lose a well respected citizen -- everyone will agree to that, who knew him personally. His mortal remains were taken to the grave Saturday morning under the direction of Father Gloden from St. John's Catholic Church to the Riverside cemetery. Many relatives and friends accorded the deceased the final honors. The pallbearers were Johann Willitzer, Joseph Hoschack, Georg Hoschack, Georg Schindler, w. Zimmermann, Adam Henrich and John Kruml.
