After a long lingering illness, on Wednesday evening after 11 o'clock in her residence on Holgate Avenue, died Katharine März, born Bremer and widow of Johann März [who] died on the 10th of October 1905. She was born on the 2nd of May 1828 in the Grand Duchy of Hesse-Darmstadt and in 1852 came with her parents to this country, where the family settled in Adams Township. On the 24th of November 1853 she married the now-deceased Johann März, with whom in 1868 she moved to Defiance, to remain resident here. No children resulted from the marriage, but Mrs. März was foster mother of the assistant postmaster John Storck, whom she adopted as an infant. The burial took place Sunday morning from the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church under the direction of Pastor F. A. Kiess to the Riverside cemetery.
Johann Nikolaus Böhm
In his residence a half mile west of Standley on Friday morning about 2 o'clock, Johann Nikolaus Böhm died from a complicated illness. He was born on the 2nd of November 1839 in Upper Franconia, Bavaria, and immigrated to this country in 1853, to become resident on the South Ridge at once. In November 1867, he married Miss Katharine Landschmidt, who preceded him in death on the 21st of August 1905. The marriage was blessed with 11 children, all still alive; they are: the Mrs. John Helfrich, Mrs. Wilhelm Rathge, Mrs. Friedr. Röhrs, Mrs. Fred. March, Mrs. Wilhelm Röhrs, Mrs. Adam Winter, Mrs. Hermann Bansen, Mrs. Adam Bauer and Mrs. Wilhelm Wirth; John Böhm and Miss Dora Böhm. Additionally left behind are the four siblings Mrs. Anna Wendt and Mrs. Margarethe Bethge in Defiance, Johann Böhm in North Richland and Mrs. Katharine Meister in Toledo.
The burial took place Monday morning from the former residence and the St. Stephan's Lutheran Church on the South Ridge. Pastor Walter Lussky officiated, and relatives from outside the area attended the funeral: Friedr. Röhrs and Wilhelm Rathge with their wives from Woodburn, Ind., as well as John Meister and wife from Toledo.

Friday morning about 1 o'clock, in her residence in Highland Center, Mrs. J. H. Myers died at the age of 63 years, leaving a widower ?with no children. The burial took place Monday afternoon from the Methodist Church in Ayersville to the cemetery there.

On friday afternoon, Mrs. Frank Rothenberger, born English, of Highland Township, died of consumption at the age of 27 years, 3 months and 3 days, leaving three small children to her widower. The burial took place Sunday afternoon from the Mt. Calvary Church to the Hill cemetery.

Widow of Joseph Hiester
Wednesday morning about 4:30 in south Richland, where she had lived for 54 years, the widow of Joseph Hiester deceased on 6 May 1903 and a born Wilhelm, died at the age of 84 years, 2 months and 8 days. Surviving are the fiollowing seven children: Mrs. Frank Link and Mrs. Wm. Derge, Maria Hiester, Kate Hiester, Raymond, Adam and Joseph Hiester, Jr. The funeral service will be Friday afternoon at 1:30 in the residence and burial in the Hire cemetery under the direction of Pastor E. Bitz.

Katharine Weidenhammer
At her daughter, Mrs Adam Ort's residence, in South Richland, where she was on a visit, on Thursday morning the widow Katharine Weidenhammer died at the age of 72 years. She was born in Pennsylvania, but had spent most of her life in Defiance County and last lived in East Defiance. She leaves behind, besides the aforementioned daughter, son Richard in South Richland, and the daughter living here, Mrs. Fred. Stoll. Her remains were buried Sunday afternoon from the Methodist Church in Independence to the cemetery there, under the direction of Pastor W. W. Lance.
