Last Sunday Mrs. Anna Katharine Troeger, Wife of Adam C. Troeger, was buried from the Lutheran Church on the South Ridge. Her parents were Georg and Katharine Goller, who have already preceded her into Eternity. She was born on the 29th of March 1870 in Highland Township, on the 18th of April of the same year baptized by Pastor Adam Detzer and confirmed in the year 1884. On the 28th of December 1899 she married her left-behind husband Adam C. Troeger in Chicago, Ill. The couple lived there for a while, then moved to Cincinnati, O. On the 26th of January of this year a healthy son was born to her there, but this occurrence led to the death of the mother. She died about 4 o'clock in the afternoon of the 29th of January and so had brought her life to 32 ears and 10 months. She leaves behind her spouse, the infant son and two brothers. The remains were brought on Friday evening to South Richland to the residence of Johann Goller, a brother of the deceased and on Sunday, as previously mentioned, laid to the final rest. The funeral oration was given by Pastor H. Diemer over Offenb. Joh. 7, 14-17. Many mourners followed the casket to the grave site. Our most heartfelt sympathy to all the relatives.
Josephine Milller
After unspeakable misery, on Saturday Just after noon, Josephine Miller, a born Young and wife of Louis K. Miller, died quietly in her sleep: She was born on the 14th of February 1866 in Brunersburg as the daughter of the since deceased Frank Young and his wife Barbara. On the 2nd of April 1885 she wed Louis K. Miller, who survives her with their almost 20 year old son Frank. Besides she leaves behind her mother, Mrs. Fr. Hanker, the brother Irving, the sisters widow Dora Miller and Mrs. John Toenjes in Grand Rapids, O. The now-deceased has been in poor health for many years and in the late Fall past had an operation in Cleveland, but there was no cure for her malady. Her remains were brought to the grave in Riverside Cemetery from the former residence on lower Wayne Street on Monday afternoon, under the direction of Pastor R. E. M. Engers.
Anton Froehlich
After a many year illness, on Monday morning of this week about 7 o'clock, Anton Froehlich died of a kidney ailment in his residence at No. 1102 Wayne Street.
He was born on the 2nd of May 1852 in Kosteletz, Chrudim District, Bohemia. On the 6th of November of the year 1881 he married in the Fatherland Miss Franciska Koutezsabak, who survives him. No children resulted from this marriage. From Vienna Austria, where he had worked for many years in the railroad machine shop, Anton Froehlich immigrated in April 1891 with his wife to this country and settled in Defiance. Here he worked in various factories, lastly in the repair shops of the U.S. Express Company. He was an industrious fellow and a good citizen, who will be missed y al] his acquaintances. The burial will take place Friday morning at 9 o'clock from the St. John's Catholic Church. The A.G.D. Sickness Support Society, to which the deceased belonged, will give him accompaniment to the grave site.

Roy Goldnetz
On Sunday morning between twelve and one o'clock, Roy, the four year 0ld son of Albert and Anna Goldnetz of East Defiance, died from diphtheria after a few day illness. The boy fell ill on the first day of the previous week and already on Thursday the symptoms were so clearly developed, that the doctor gave an almost definite diagnosis of diphtheria. Medical assistance proved to be useless and [by] Sunday morning the little one had passed away. The remains were buried on the afternoon of the same day from the former residence, under the direction of Pastor Kiess. We [wish to] express our sympathy to the sorrowing relatives in their deep grief.

Jesse Bell Van Horn
On Thursday afternoon in Toledo Hospital, Jesse Bell Van Horn of Defiance, a born McCullough, 29 years of age, died of peritonitis, which a just undertaken operation had not been able to correct. She leaves behind to her husband Harry Van Horn a son of 8 years; further she is survived by her mother and six siblings. Her remains were buried in the Riverside Cemetery Sunday afternoon from her moter's residence.
