On Saturday afternoon, the mortal remains of Anna Margarette Thieroff, wife of Mr. Peter Thieroff of the South Ridge were brought to the grave in the Riverside Cemetery, with a large following (?attendance). The funeral rites, at which the Pastor H. Rottman from Florida officiated, were held in the former residence and the St. Stephan's Lutheran Church on the South Ridge.
To that, which has already been shared about the life story of the deceased, is added the following: she was born in Wüstenselbitz, Bavaria on the 23rd of March 1845 and thus had brought her lifetime to 58 years, 4 months and 23 days. She came to America in 1853 with her parents and siblings and settled initially in Pleasant Township, Henry County. Pastor A. Detzer confirmed her in 1858 and on the 18th of November 1863 married her to Peter Thieroff, who survives. From their marriage on Mrs. Thieroff resided in Richland Township, Defiance county. She suffered for a long time, but carried her assigned cross in Christian patience. About six years ago she sprained an ankle, shortly thereafter suffered a broken arm, and since then has suffered constantly, such that to her release was not to be resisted.
The husband and daughter of the deceased have asked us to publish the following words of thanks: "For the many expressions of love which have been given to us on account of the passing of our beloved wife and mother from these and our friends, we hereby state our heartfelt thanks."
