Mrs. Katharine Degler, Daughter of the late Johann S. and Katharine Minsel and wife of Mr. Levi Degler, died on Monday morning about 5 o'clock in the family residence No. 519 Wayne Street, from a complicated condition. she was born on the 25th of May 1852 in Richland Township and thus is 59 years, 8 months and 3 days old. On the !st of October 1874 she was married by the German Methodist preacher Andreas Mayer with Mr. Levi Degler, who survives; no children were produced by the marriage.
Besides the husband the deceased leaves behind the brothers John E. Minsel in Richland Township and Frank Minsel in Tiffin Township. The mortal remains were brought Wednesday towards noon to the grave in the Cemetery in Independence, after Pastor C. W. Helwig had held a funeral service in the [former] residence.
Frank E. Jones
Frank E. Jones died Monday afternoon about 5 o'clock in his residence No. 536 East Hopkins Street after a short illness from a brain ulcer. He was born on the 10th of September 1856 in neighboring Henry County, thus is 55 years, 3 months and 28 days old. In the year 1880 he married in the state of Kansas with Miss Rosa Geiger and in the following year settled in Defiance, where he then remained resident. For many years he acted as foreman for the Turnbull Wagon Company, while later he ran a wood and coal business. The deceased leaves behind a widow, daughter Mabel and son Howard. The burial took place Wednesday afternoon under the direction of Pastors B. W. Slagle and C. E. shields from the former residence to the Riverside Cemetery.

Mrs. Rhoda Naveau
Mrs. Rhoda Naveau, a born Hoeltzel and wife of James Naveau, died Sunday in her residence in St. Louis, Mo., at the age of about 54 years. She was born in Defiance county and had lived here until a few years ago. Surviving her are the widower with many children. Her remains arrived here Wednesday morning on the Wabash Railroad and were brought to the residence of her sister-in-law Mrs. George A. Heatley on Washington Street. This afternoon at 2 o'clock a funeral service took place under the direction of Dr. B. W. Slagle in the Presbyterian Church, after which the remains were laid temporarily in the Riverside chapel crypt.
Mrs. Laura Wood
Mrs. Laura Wood, a born Thomas and wife of Mr. A. H. wood, secretary of the Turnbull Wagon Co., died Wednesday morning after an illness of many months in the family residence on First Street. She leaves behind the widower and two grown and married sons: Fred and A. T. Wood. Decisions concerning the burial had not been made at the time of the printing of this edition.

Mrs. Katharine Deckrasch
Mrs. Katharine Deckrasch, widow of Christian Deckrasch, who died many years ago, died from the infirmities of age on Wednesday evening of the prior week at about 6 o'clock, in the residence of her daughter Mrs. John Lingle, about two miles south of Ayersville. She had lived almost an entire lifetime in that area and had brought the time of her earthly pilgrimage to 85 years, 4 months and 16 days. Remaining behind are three sons and four daughters, as well as a number of grandchildren ana even more great-grandchildren. The Christian burial of the mortal remains took place Friday morning in the Ayersville Cemetery, after Pastor Pope had held a funeral service in the English Methodist Church there.
Peter Deckrasch died on Monday morning about a quarter after three in his residence in Tiffin Township from a complicaated illness at the age of 48 years, 9 months and 6 days. surviving him are his widow and many children. The remains were buried Wednesday about noon in the Brunersburg Cemetery, after Pastor A. W. McDaniel had held a funeral service in the former residence at 10 o'clock. His death was caused by tubercular peritonitis.

Dorothy Dürk
Dorothy Dürk, infant daughter and only child of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin H. and Alice Dürk in Cleveland, Ohio, died there on Friday at the age of 1 year, 3 months and 2 days, from an illness of the throat, that was variously diagnosed as diphtheria and tonsillitis. Saturday the remains were brought to the grave and the funeral service took place on Sunday. Mrs. Christoph Dürk, grandmother of the infant, traveled on Thursday to Cleveland to assist with the funeral supper.
