Levi V. Barringer, an elderly resident of Highland Township, died at 4 o'clock in the afternoon on Tuesday of this week in his residence. He was 73 years, 11 months and 18 days old and is survived by his wife and numerous grown children.
The funeral service will be on Thursday at 2 o 'clock in the former residence and a half hour later in the Methodist Church in Ayresville, with the burial following in Hill Cemetery.
Henry Stork died on Sunday morning about 2 o 'clock in his residence in Auglaize Twp., Paulding County, after a short illness at the age of 49 years, 2 months and 28 days. Saturday evening members of the family found him in the barn where he had been going about his chores, apparently very sick, and although medical help was fetched as quickly as possible, the patient died during the course of the night. The medical opinion was that he had suffered a stroke. Remaining behind are two brothers and one sister, who lived with him on that farm; the deceased had never married. His remains were buried Tuesday morning from the former residence and the Oakland Methodist Church here in the Riverside Cemetery.

Katharine Margarethe Richter
Katharine Margarethe Richter, a born Sauermann and widow of the late Johann Richter, has, after a lengthy illness, gone to her eternal Rest on Monday evening about 9 o 'clock in her residence No. 431 Seneca Street. She was born on the 15th of June 1822 in Wüstenselbitz, Münchberg District, Kingdom of Bavaria. In the year 1839 she entered into marriage with Johann Richter, deceased on the 28th of April 1876, and immigrated with her husband and three children to this country, where they settled in Pleasant Township, Henry County. In the year 1871 the Richter family moved to the city of Defiance, and here Mrs. Richter remained until the end of her life. Her marriage was blessed with four children. One died back in the old Fatherland, and two married daughters, namely Mrs. Anna Margarethe Thieroff and Mrs. Elisabeth Böhm, shortly one after the other preceded her in death. Thus surviving her is just her only son Johann Richter, three grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and the son-in-law Johann Böhm. Her age had reached 88 years, 9 months and 26 days.
The funeral service will be Thursday morning at 9:30 in the residence and at 10 o 'clock in the St. John 's Evangelical Lutheran Church under the direction of Pastor F. A. Kiess. The burial will take place in the Riverside Cemetery.
Stephen Horsey, one of the pioneers of Northwestern Ohio, died Friday morning about 3 o 'clock in his residence in Noble Township at the age of 73 years, 11 months and 25 days. Surviving him is his widow and several] grown children. His remains were buried Sunday afternoon in the Brunersburg Cemetery, after Pastor W. W. Lance held the funeral service in the family residence.
Mathilde Marie Kiessner, a born Müller and wife of Mr. Valentin Kiessner, died quietly in her sleep last Friday evening about a quarter to 11 o 'clock, surrounded by her loving family, in the family residence on Water Street in North Defiance. Taken to the hereafter by cancer which for half a year had almost constantly confined her to a sickroom given her from time to time unspeakable pain, which she patiently and obediently took to herself. And on the side of her husband, children and friends, everything posslble was done to make her difficult lot lighter and easier to bear.
Mrs. Kiessner was born in the year 1859 on the 6th of April in Steinach an der Saale, Bavaria, and is therefore 52 years and 15 days old. She came to Defiance from the old Fatherland on the 17th of November 1882 with her bridegroom Valentin Kiessner, with whom she was married on the 22nd of April of the following year. The late Father Jung blessed their bond, which now implacable Death has broken. From the marriage six children resulted, of whom the daughter Anna and the infant son Frank died before the mother; a grandchild has also died already. The return Home of the patient sufferer is mourned by the husband and the four children Eduard, Karl and Nicholas Kiessner of here and Mrs. Margarethe Lewis, wife of Mr. J. H. Lewis in Lima. Besides these the deceased leaves behind the master-miller brother Joseph Müller in Steinach, Bavaria, and a grandchild. With all these mourn the deceased also the sisters of the Christian Mothers ' Society of the St. John 's Catholic congregation, the German Women 's Sickness Aid Society and the “Ladies Relief & Benefit Society, of whom many took part in the funeral ceremonies. The burial of the mortal remains took place Monday afternoon in the Riverside Cemetery after the funeral service, held at 9 o 'clock by Pastor Gloden in the St. John 's Catholic Church. Pallbearers were Franz Pfirrmann, Louis Krutsch, J. F. Heinrich, Gustav Kunz, Nik. Sinnes and Joseph Stein.
