Violet Ruth, baby daughter of Mr. & Mrs. J. H. Osborne & wife living on the Butler farm just a bit south of Defiance, died Friday morning, born only the day before. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery.

Lake E. Myers
The elder citizen Lake E. Myers, concerning whose illness of softening of the brain among the curiosities of city Hall has been reported elsewhere, died Wednesday shortly before noon in his home on east second Street. Arrangements for the burial had not been finalized, when this edition went to print.

Daniel W. Rasor
In his home in Tiffin Township on Saturday evening shortly before 7 o'clock, Daniel W. Rasor died of consumption. He was born 17 July 1856 in Tiffin Township, which brought his age to 50 years and almost 6 months. Surviving him is a widow without children. His wife was a born Geitge. Also surviving are his father Abraham Rasor, his mother, two brothers and three sisters, one being Mrs. E. Slough living on Jefferson street. The remains will be laid Wednesday morning in Webb's cemetery in Noble Township, after a funeral service in the former home and the Church of the united Brethren.

Mrs. Anna Marrihugh
Saturday morning shortly before 9 o'clock in her home just a few miles south of Defiance, Anna Marrihugh, a born Rohlfs and wife of William Marrihugh, died from a complicated illness which had finally degenerated into dropsy. She was born [somewhere in] Hannover and had come from there many years ago with her since-deceased parents to this area, where on 28 September 1886 she married William Marrihugh, who survives her along with two boys and four girls in age from two to eighteen years. She also leaves behind two brothers Heinrich and Johann Rohlfs in Paulding county, a brother August in the state of Alabama and a sister in New York. she had brought her life to 39 years less 13 days.
Her remains were laid Monday morning in the cemetery near Brunersburg, after funeral services held in the former home and in St. Paul's Lutheran Church by Pastor W. H. Bunge.

Anna Margarethe Schatz
After only a three day illness, on Monday morning about 11 o'clock, in her home on the south Ridge, Anna Margarethe Schatz, widow of the late Johann Heinrich Schatz and a born Sauermann, died quietly in her sleep. she was born on 9 October 1828 in the kingdom of Bavaria and there on 12 October 1847 in Wellersbach, Hof district, married Johann Heinrich Schatz, with whom she soon immigrated to this country and settled at once in Pleasant Township, Henry county. From the marriage with Mr. Schatz, who died on 13 Jun 1903, were born ten children. of these, the son Heinrich died a long time ago. The surviving children are: Mrs. Minnie Egler in North Richland; John Schatz and Mrs. Maggie Steinmaier in Highland Township; Christ. Schatz in south Richland; Adam Schatz, Mrs. John Fraker, Wilhelm Schatz, Mrs. Elise Reichmann and Mrs. Anna Fenter in Pleasant Township. Of the deceased, who lived through the transformation of this area from pestilential swamp to a healthy and fruitful landscape, let it be said, that she bore the burden and heat of the day. How wonderful, that she could enjoy a carefree old age, before she went to her eternal rest!
The burial will take place Thursday morning of this week under the direction of Pastor H. Diemer. The funeral service will be at 9:30 in the home and at 10:30 in St. Stephen's Lutheran Church.
Christian Harley
The very elderly Christian Harley died of the infirmities of age yesterday, shortly before this edition was sent to the printer. He was born in 1822 in the Grand-duchy of Baden and came to this country in 1835. After he had resided for many years in the Ohio counties of Columbiana, Crawford and Erie, he settled in Defiance and was active as a merchant here until the year 1887. Since then he has been retired.
His first wife, a born Stilzer, died here in 1880; his second wife, whom he married in 1882, survives him with one daughter. From the first marriage 9 sons and 4 daughters remain. More specifics concerning the course of life of this respected pioneer will follow next week.
