Heinrich Lantow died suddenly on Saturday morning about one o'clock in his residence in Noble Township. Just on the day before he had gone about his business as usual and had gone to bed in apparently good health. He was born on the 14th of April 1859 in Noble township and had lived here until the end of his life. He had brought his age (lifetime) to 54 years, 9 months and 13 days. Surviving him are his widow Anna, a born Marihugh, whom he married in the year 1880; the 2 sons Charles and Frederick Lantow, the daughter Mrs. Anna Spencer, 1 grandchild, the brother Charles in Tiffin Twp., the brother John of here and the brothers August and Alex in Rice County, Kansas. The other brother Louis preceded him in death in June of the previous year.
His remains were buried Monday afternoon under the direction of Pastor F. A. Kiess from the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church to the Riverside Cemetery.

Abraham T. Brechbill
Abraham T. Brechbill, whose severe illness we had referred to in a previous edition, died Friday morning about eight o'clock in his residence on Washington Street, as the result of a stroke attack, from which he had suffered on the 8th of November of the preceding year. He was born on the 22nd of September 1836 as the first child of white parents in Highland Township and remained on the parental farm until he attained manhood. In July 1862 to went to the war and served in various capacities until the end of hostilities. On the 14th of April 1865 he was in Ford's Theater in the capitol city, an eyewitness to the murder of the President Abraham Lincoln. After the civil war Abraham T. Brechbill settled again in Highland Township on a farm and resided there until the year 1896. since then he has made his home in the city of Defiance.
The deceased was twice married. His first wife, Susan J. Tate, died already in the year 1861. The second wife, Lucy M. Kepler, survives him with the following children: Edward S. Brechbill in South Richland, Mrs. Laura E. Reeder in Harlan, Ind., Burt H. Brechbill in Defiance and Clayton F Brechbill in Omaha, Nebraska. Besides there are four grandchildren left behind. The burial took place Sunday afternoon under the auspices of the Bishop Post of the Grand Army from the former residence to the Ayersville Cemetery.

John Lingle
John Lingle, a resident of Highland Township for many years, died last Wednesday afternoon in his residence there at the age of 69 years. The widow and many grown children mourn him. The mortal remains were brought Saturday morning from the former residence to Ayersville Cemetery for Christian burial.

Clayton R. Warwick
Clayton R. Warwick, a brother-in-law of Defiance resident Mr. C. W. Butler, died on Wednesday in Dayton, Ohio, in the residence of his sister at the age of 55 years. His remains were brought Friday evening to Defiance to the residence of the Butler family on Jefferson Street and on Thursday morning from there to the Riverside Cemetery for Christian burial.

Minerva Corwin, a widow at the age of 85 years, 4 months and 21 days, died on last Wednesday afternoon in the residence of her daughter Mrs. E. Wilson, No. 125 East High Street, from the infirmities of age. She leaves behind 3 daughters and one son. [On] Friday afternoon the burial of the mortal remains took place under the direction of the Baptist preacher McDaniel in the Riverside Cemetery.

John W. Hughes
John W. Hughes, a veteran of the Civil War and since 1890 a resident of our city, died Friday afternoon in the residence of his daughter Mrs. A. Cameron on East Hopkins Street at the age of 70 years, 11 months and 23 days. Surviving him are five children, of whom Mrs. A. Cameron and Mrs. Fred. Vackels reside in Defiance, 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. His remains were brought to the grave Monday afternoon under the direction of Pastor W. F. Barbers from the United Brethren Church to the Riverside Cemetery. Members of the Bishop Post of the Grand Army, to which the deceased belonged, gave him an honor guard to the grave.

Perry Tellschow
Perry Tellschow, eldest son of Mr. & Mrs. Gustave and Dore Tellschow, residing at No. 314 Summit Street, died Thursday evening in the parental residence at the age of 27 years and 5 months from pulmonary tuberculosis. Earlier he had undertaken a trip to Colorado to improve his health but in the meantime the condition of the patient had become so grave, that he had to give up the planned trip. It wouldn't have been able to help him. The deceased leaves behind his parents, one brother and five sisters. On Saturday afternoon his remains were buried from the former residence and the United Brethren Church in the Riverside Cemetery. Pastor W. F. Barber officiated.
