Ferdinand Kroll, on Friday morning shortly after one o'clock in the residence of his son-in-law Christ. J. Ruess on the corner of Wayne and William Streets after a lengthy illness through an easy death found release from all his misery and reuniting with his dearly beloved wife. In January 1907 he fell gravely ill with Bright's kidney disease and since then he has been unable pursue any activity. Many times he was not able to leave the house for weeks at a time. Since the death of his wife on the 31st of August of the past year, he has longed for death, but patiently gave himself up to his illness and to the will of Him, in whom he firmly believed.
Ferdinand Kroll was born on the 29th of September 1842 in Beihingen, Württemberg and thus is 68 years, 5 months and 2 days old. In November of the year 1868 he married Katharine Seyboldt and in August 188l immigrated with her to this country, where the family, after a short stay in New Washington, Crawford County, Ohio, settled here and has remained resident ever since. Since the death of his wife Mr. Kroll has made his home with his son-in-law Christ. J. Ruess. Surviving him are the following children: Mrs. Christ. J. Ruess, Ferdinand Kroll, Jr., Miss Mayme Kroll and John Kroll of here, Mrs. Ed. Payne and Mrs. Frank Northrup in Toledo. Six children died before him. Additional descendants include eight grandchildren, and three brothers in the old Fatherland survive the peacefully departed. The deceased was a member of the National Union, and the A.G.D. Sickness Support Society. All [of these] escorted him to the grave.
The burial took place Sunday afternoon in the Riverside Cemetery, after Pastor F. A. Kiess had held a funeral service at 1:30 in the former residence and 2 o'clock in the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Pallbearers were Jakob Fink, Karl Fessel, Gottlieb S. Roth, Karl Walter, Johann Butsch and Wilhelm Franzdorf.
Howard Alonzo Trubey, a son of Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Trubey, died on Friday morning about 6 o'clock in the parental residence in North Richland at the age of 22 years. The Christian burial of the mortal remains took place Sunday morning from the church in Independence to the cemetery there.

John Wesley McGovney
John Wesley McGovney, the only 8 months and 15 days old infant son of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. McGovney, died Saturday evening after only a few days illness in the parental residence No. 1054 Holgate Avenue from a spinal-cord disease. The small remains were brought Monday afternoon from the former residence under the direction of Pastor C. E. Shields to the grave in the Riverside Cemetery.
Daniel White died last Wednesday in the hospital in Toledo from injuries which he had suffered the Sunday before, when he stuck his head through the window of a streetcar on a bridge. The victim was 60 years old and leaves behind a widow, the two daughters Mrs. Robert McCullough and Mrs. Fred. Beiker and the son Daniel White. The remains were brought hither Thursday evening to the residence of Robert Dauster and Friday afternoon from there buried in Riverside Cemetery. Pastor W. W. Lance officiated.

Esther Maria Hoffmann
Esther Maria Hoffmann, adopted child of Mr. and Mrs. J. N. Wolfrum in Highland Township, died Tuesday afternoon about 3:30 in their residence after a lengthy illness from anemia. The girl was only 10 years, 9 months and 4 days old and was a daughter of Henry Hoffmann, who resides in Ft. Wayne. The mother, a sister of Mrs. Wolfrum, had died earlier; a sister survives her with the father. [On] Wednesday morning, when we printed this issue, the time of the burial had not yet been determined.
Mrs. Mary E. Leach, widow of J.W. Leach, who died a few years ago in his residence on lower Wayne Street, was discovered a corpse in her bedroom? Thursday morning in the residence of her son Charles Leach near Jewell. It is supposed that a heart attack brought her life to such a sudden end. The deceased was 72 years old. Her mortal remains were brought Saturday morning from the church in Independence to a grave in the cemetery there. Pastor W. W. Lance of Defiance officiated at the burial.
