Lydia Anderson died of consumption on Sunday morning about 4:30 in Defiance Hospital at the age of 18 years, 2 months and 3 days. The burial took place Tuesday afternoon in the Riverside Cemetery, after Pastor J. H. Wannemacher had held a funeral service in the residence of Albert Anderson, where the remains were laid out, and in the English Lutheran Church.

Sarah Wandt
Sarah Wandt, born Veutter and wife of Mr. August wandt, died on Saturday morning about 5 o'clock in her residence in Highland Township after a short illness and an apparently improved condition, of nervous fever. She was born on the 22nd of April 1857 in Highland Township and had spent almost her entire life there. On the 5th of April 1881 she married August Wandt, who with the four daughters Mrs. Rosa Kopp, Misses Minnie, Louise and Ella Wandt survive. Besides, the deceased leaves behind two sisters. From childhood on she was a member of the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran congregation here, and was in all things upright and faithful. Her mortal remains were buried in the Ayersville Cemetery on Tuesday, after Pastor Kiess had held a funeral service at 8:30 in the former residence and 10 o'clock in the Church.

Mavie Elisabeth Anna Dickmann
Mavie Elisabeth Anna Dickmann, a born Rotker and widow of Heinrich Dickmann, who died over 35 years ago, died Monday morning about 9:30 in the residence of her son-in-law Dr. W. S. Hilton in Pleasnat Bend, where she had resided for the past eight years, of the infirmities of age. She came from Germany, but had come to America many years ago, and had spent at least 50 years in this area. She was 86 years, 6 months and 11 days of age and left behind the following children: Wm. Dickmann in Defiance, Mrs. W. S. Hilton and J. W. Dickmann in Pleasant Bend, Henry W. Dickmann in Highland Township, Rudolph Dickmann in Detroit, Michigan, and Mrs. M. B. Morris in Winchester, Ohio. Further direct descendants are eleven grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. The burial took place Wednesday afternoon from the German Methodist Church on the south Ridge. Pastor W. P. Ruckheim gave the German and Pastor A. Beer the English funeral oration.

Josephine Nelson
Josephine Nelson, whose sister was taken to the grave on Tuesday of the previous week, died on Monday morning about 7 o'clock in the Defiance Hospital, also from consumption. She was about 20 years old, and had been ill for quite some time. Her remains were buried Wednesday afternoon in the Riverside Cemetery, after Pastor J.H. Wannemacher had held a funeral service in the Zion Lutheran Church.

Helene Pracht
Helene Pracht, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Ludwig Pracht, died on Sunday shortly before noon in the parental residence at No. 1325 Ayersville Avenue after a short illness at the age of 7 years, 11 months and 25 days, from diphtheria. The burial took place Monday morning at 9 o'clock from the former residence to the Riverside Cemetery under the direction of Pastor F. A. Kiess.

Mrs. Ellen E. Elliott
Mrs. Ellen E. Elliott, wife of Matthew Elliott living in North Richland, and a born Weidenhammer, died last Wednesday about 9 in the morning after a barely two week long illness from pneumonia. The deceased had reached the age of 64 years, 7 months and 25 days and had spent most of her life in this area. She leaves behind the widower, the daughters Mrs. E. E. Hall and Mrs. Dick Spangler [both] living in Defiance, and sons Carl, Thomas, Benjamin and Albert. The burial took place Saturday afternoon from the former residence to the cemetery in Independence. Pastor W. W. Lance from Defiance officiated.

Karl Rahmel
Karl Rahmel died last Saturday morning in his residence No. 821 Sunday Street after a lengthy siege of stomach cancer. He was born on the 11th of May 1858 in Neuhof, in the province of Posen, Germany, and married there in the year 1883 Miss Ernestine Ferdnand. To America, and directly to our city, he came with his wife and two children in the year 1889 and since then he has lived here. Of the eight children, whom his wife has given life, the following are still alive: Friedrich, Karl, Wilhelm, Hermann, Minna, Emilie and Mrs. August Memmer, who lives in Youngstown, Ohio. Also surviving are the widow and the brother Albert. Karl Rahmel had brought his life to 51 years, 10 months and 30 days. The burial took place Monday afternoon from the former residence and the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church under the direction of Pastor F. A. Kiess to the Riverside Cemetery.
Matthias Stottler, who earlier had lived many years in Defiance County, died on the past Thursday in Newark, Ohio, in the residence of his son-in-law Orlando Ewing, at the age of 80 years. His remains arrived here on the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad Sunday just after noon and were taken immediately to the Church near the Clinker Cemetery, from whence the Christian burial took place in the aforementioned Cemetery.
