Through an easy death last Friday afternoon, Anna Margaretha Thieroff, a born Tröger and wife of Mr. Michael Thieroff of South Richland, was summoned from this time and her misery. Born in Neudorf, in the Upper Franconia district of Naila of the Kingdom of Bavaria on the 16th of February 1838, she came as a 9 year-old maid with her father Georg Nikolaus Tröger, 4 brothers and 2 sisters in August 1847 to this country, and the family soon settled in this area. Here the deceased entered on the 4th of September 1859 with Michael Thieroff into the life bond and for almost half a century was able to share honest joy and sorrow with her husband and enjoy good health up to the last few years. Just recently she was undergoing a severe nervous disorder.
The deceased left to the deeply sorrowing widower five grown children: I. J. and Adam Thieroff in South Richland, Heinrich G. Thieroff and Mrs. Johann Drexler in North Richland, Wilhelm E. Thieroff in Gas City, Ind. Besides these there are 10 grandchildren and the brother Johann E. Thieroff in Highland Township. The deceased had brought her age to 66 years, 4 months and 1 day.
The burial took place Sunday afternoon with a large attendance from the former residence and the St. Stephan's Lutheran church under the direction of Pastor H. Diemer. As true as the deceased always was, let it be said of her: As good to her, ?as she has done!
In the name of the survivors, we hereby wish to offer all our friends for the many expressions of their love and their sympathy, as well as for the floral displays, our heartfelt thanks.
