The widower George Rossmann dies a sudden death on the night of last Friday in his farmhouse in Hicksville Township, at the age of about 75 years. On the day before his death he was still spry and in good spirits, and that evening, as his son Charles, who lived with him, was going to bed, sat reading his newspaper at the table. when his son woke the next morning, he found his father's body on the floor. Apparently it was a heart attack, which had brought his life to such an unexpected end. As far as we know, the deceased left behind five grown children. His remains were buried on Sunday. We don't know anything further about the course of his life.

On Friday morning about 4 o'clock in his home in south Richland, Friedrich Hohenberger, of only 26 years of age, died from a kidney disease. Besides this family, the deceased leaves behind a brother named Eduard in Chicago, and many more distant relatives in this area. His remains were were taken Sunday afternoon from the English Lutheran Church near Standley, under the direction of Pastor R. E. M. Engers to Hohenberger's Private cemetery for burial. Andrew Tuttle
In the Presbyterian Hospital in Chicago, to which he was admitted on Tuesday of the week before last, Andrew Tuttle, an honored citizen of our city, died yesterday about four o'clock, after a protracted sickness from stomach cancer. His son Neil, who, upon receiving the report Sunday morning of the critical condition of his father, had traveled to Chicago, was with him when his end came.
Andrew Tuttle was born on 30 October of the year 1845 here in Defiance, and with the exception of the few years he spent in the civil war and the area of Florida*, spent his entire lifetime among us. On 26 May 1870 he entered with Miss Elisabeth Lang into marriage, which was blessed with three children. Of these, both the sons Neil and Leonhard are still alive. With them and the deeply sorrowful wife, the stepdaughter Lotte await the return of the man, whose favorite abode was in the circle of his family.
The deceased followed various occupations. He was farmer, corn (?grain) dealer, and grocer. For one term he was sheriff of Defiance county and also served his fellow citizens on the city council. He was a gentleman from the soles of his feet to the crown of his head -- the writer can bear witness to that without reservation. The remains were brought by the B. & O. Railroad to Defiance yesterday evening. Decisions concerning the burial had not yet been made, when this edition had to go to press.
