Mrs. Louisa M. Bloom died on Thursday evening in the residence of her son-in-law C. W. Butler at the age of 81 years 5 months and 21 days. She leaves behind the widower Stephen Bloom, the daughter Mr. C. W. Butler and the granddaughter Miss Louise Warwick. The burial took place Saturday afternoon from the former residence under the direction of Pastor P. A. Crow in the Riverside cemetery.

Miss Catherine Behringer
Miss Catherine Behringer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Adam C. L. Behringer, died on Saturday morning about 8 o'clock in the parental residence No. 511 Jackson Street after a many month illness at the age of 18 years, 2 months and 14 days from anemia. Surviving are her parents, two sisters and four brothers. Her remains were buried Monday morning in the Riverside cemetery after a funeral service was held by Father Brannigan in the St. Mary's (Catholic) Church.

James Francis Holly
James Francis Holly, better known under the name of Frank Holly, died Thursday afternoon about one o'clock in his residence No. 413 Douglas Street after a many year siege of a complicated illness. He was born in Napoleon and came 37 years ago to Defiance, where he has resided ever since. For thirty-five years, until his illness forced him to rest, he was employed in the Turnbull wagon factory. He is survived by his widow, a born Kunz, with the following children: Edward, Clarence, Frank and Mabel Holly. He had brought his age to 56 years, 8 months and 30 days and was a member of the National Union and the Turnbull Support Society. His remains were buried Sunday afternoon under the direction of Pastor W. C. Demuth in the Riverside cemetery.

Mrs. Julia Pruesser
Mrs. Julia Pruesser, wife of H. H. Pruesser residing in Noble Township, died on Wednesday morning of the previous week in the family residence at the age of 56 years, 2 months and 3 days. Her remains were given Christian burial Friday morning, after a funeral service had been held in the Salem's Evangelical Church by Pastors Mygrant and Snider.
Lavina A. Gallaspie died on Sunday in the residence of her son Sheridan Gallaspie, No. 119¬Ω Clinton Street of pneumonia at the age of 68 years, 4 months and 14 days. Her remains were taken Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock from the residence of her son-in-law Wesley Kohl, No. 137 Perry Street to the Riverside cemetery for burial. The Baptist preacher E. D. Miller officiated.

Eva May Harding
Eva May Harding, wife of Bert Harding and a born Dudley, died Monday evening about half past 9 o'clock in her residence in Defiance Township at the age of 31 years, 1 month and 7 days. Her husband, their three children and her parents survive. Her remains were buried Thursday afternoon under the direction of Pastor Campbell from oakwood in the Riverside cemetery.
Solomon Hire, also one of the old pioneers of the South-Ridge, died Tuesday afternoon in his residence in South Richland at the age of 86 years, 4 months and 26 days from the infirmities of age. He came to this area well over a half century ago and, after he had settled on the fruitful South- Ridge, remained faithful to his farming until well up in age. His wife preceded him in death about 12 years ago. Left behind are the two daughters. Mrs. George Ort in South Richland and Mrs. Monroe Degler in Texas County, Missouri, eleven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Solomon Hire was an upright man and was held in high esteem and honor by all, with whom he came in contact.
The burial will take place Thursday afternoon in the Hire cemetery. The funeral service is at 1 o'clock in the home and at half past 1 in the Dunkard Church.

Mrs. Maria Max
Mrs. Maria Max, a born Hasch and widow of the late Heinrich M. Max, died on Saturday evening about 11 o'clock after a many year illness in the residence of her brother-in-law Peter Schappert in Highland township from a complicated illness. She was born on the 18th of April 1853 and spent her youth in Paulding County. In the year 1874 she entered into Matrimony with Heinrich M. Max but this marriage was soon separated by the death of the husband on the 23rd of September 1877. Since then the now deceased had lived for the most part with her relatives -- the last few years with her brother-in-law Peter Schappert, where she received faithful care from her sister and that family. She leaves behind the following siblings: Mrs. Friedrich Aschbacher in Defiance, Mrs. Peter Schappert in Highland Township, Louis, Henry, John and Gottlieb Hasch in Paulding County. He deceased was a member of the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran congregation here and the womens' society "Harmonia".
The burial took place Tuesday afternoon here in the Riverside cemetery. In the former residence Pastor C. Schroder officiated. In the St. John's Church here the same preacher gave the English funeral sermon and Pastor F. A. Kiess, the German. Pastor Kiess also officiated at the graveside.
