To relatives here came the news Sunday evening of the death of Earl H. Storck in Sturgis, Mich., shortly after it had occurred. He was born on the 21st of June 1881 in Defiance as the son of the married couple Johann and Rosa Storck and was here in the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church baptized and confirmed. On the 18th of August 1904 he married here Miss Anna Baden from Delaware Township, who just on the 25th of October passed away from pneumonia brought on by influenza, which also struck him. About nine years ago Earl moved to Sturgis, Mich., where he operated a hardware store, with success. Surviving him are the two daughters Mildred and Ruth, the father Johann Storck residing here with the sister Marie, and the brother Emil Storck now on war service in France. Earl had brought his lifetime to 37 years, 4 months and 13 days. His remains were given Christian burial in Sturgis on Tuesday afternoon.

Margarethe (Danz) Streicher
Died in the sanitarium.
Mr. Christ. Diehl was summoned on Friday by telegram to Battle Creek, Mich., to the sickbed of his aunt Mrs. Margarethe Streicher, whose condition was very critical. Her death, brought about by a complicated condition, then occurred on Tuesday morning about half past 2 o'clock. The deceased had reached the age of 56 years, 4 months and 22 days. She was twice married, first with Louis Danz and then with Georg Streicher; both spouses died before her. Remaining behind are only the sister Mrs. Elisabeth Potzinger, residing here at 1022 Grove Street, and the brother Caspar Ranz in Holgate, where also Mrs. Streicher had spent a great part of her life. Her remains will be brought hither to the residence of the sister and from there buried in the Riverside Cemetery. When, was not exactly known as this edition was completed.

Miss Maria E. Hildebrandt
Miss Maria E. Hildebrandt, daughter of the widow of Jakob Hildebrandt residing at 714 Nicholas street, died on Monday morning about half past 5 o'clock in the residence of her mother. With this one mourning her death is the sister Rosa Hildebrandt. The burial will take place Thursday afternoon at half past four o'clock from the former residence in the Riverside Cemetery. Pastor F. A. Kiess will officiate.

Anna Storck
In Sturgis, Michigan, on Friday morning Mrs. Anna Storck, wife of Earl Storck, at the age of about 36 years, died after a short illness. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wilhelm Baden of Delaware Township. On the 18th of August 1904 she was married here by Pastor F. A. Kiess with Earl Storck and has resided in Sturgis for about eight years. Remaining behind are the widower, the two daughters Ruth and Mildred, the parents and two brothers, Wilhelm and Heinrich in Delaware Township. The burial took place in Sturgis on Sunday afternoon. The parents and the brother Wilhelm attended. The other brother Heinrich was with his sister on Friday. With the survivors a large circle of friends mourn the premature passing of the young woman, who was also held in high regard by many acquaintances in Defiance.

Miss Agnes Moore
Miss Agnes Moore died on Tuesday afternoon in Cleveland in a hospital, where an operation had been undertaken on her to cure a throat condition. Her remains will be brought to Defiance for burial.
George Dunbar, who previously resided here, came to his death on Monday morning in the performance of his duties as a conductor on the Toledo and Ohio Central Railroad in Edison near Bucyrus, O., when he was struck in the abdominal area by a piece of iron. His death occurred within an hour. He was 38 years old and leaves behind a widow and one child. On Thursday morning his remains will be buried here in the Riverside Cemetery. The mother of the deceased, Mrs. Lydia Dunbar, resides here at 860 Ottawa Avenue.
Fred Hire died on Thursday morning in Defiance Hospital, where an operation on him had just been completed. He was a farmer by trade, and resided on a farm in South Richland, just a few miles east of Defiance. He had reached the age of 39 years, 8 months and 26 days and leaves behind the widow Rosa Hire, a born Colwell, as well as three sons. The burial of his remains took place Saturday afternoon from the Dunkard Church on the south Poplar Ridge in the Hire Cemetery. Pallbearers were Frank Hohenberger, Irwin Aschbacher, Valentin Peter, Joseph Baker, Ray Partee and Harry Moorehead; flower bearers (were) G. E. Rohr and Joseph Fritsche.
