Mrs. Emma Schlüter, a born Wendt and wife of Mr Hermann Schlüter, died on Monday about noon in the family residence in Ridgeville corners, Henry county, after a lengthy siege of Bright's kidney disease. She was born on the 18th of July 1869 in Napoleon Township and thus was 47 years, 2 months and 21 days old. On the 27th of September 1888 she married Mr Hermann Schlüter, who with the daughter Mrs. Lydia Ruffer survives. Besides these remaining behind are one grandchild, the brother Fred Wendt and the sister Mrs. Johann Bostelmann in Adams Township. The Schlüter family lived for many years near Holgate and for the last five years in Ridgeville Corners.
The burial will take place Thursday afternoon under the direction of Pastor H. Schult from the St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ridgeville Corners.

Verona Bertha Pahl
Verona Bertha Pahl, daughter of Peter and Jennie Pahl in Auglaize Township, Paulding County, died on Sunday about 20 minutes after two o'clock in the afternoon in Defiance Hospital, where she had been operated on on the previous Monday for appendicitis. Even during the operation it was obvious that the case was very serious; but one had the hope that the youth and the strong constitution of the patient would overcome all difficulties. Unfortunately this hope was not fulfilled.
The deceased had reached an age of 21 years, 3 months and 23 days and was well known and very well liked in Defiance, where for a few years she attended the high school and later worked as a stenographer. Surviving her are the parents, the sisters Amelia, Agnes, Irene, Stella, Gertrude and Lavina and the brother Urban.
The burial took place Tuesday morning in the Riverside Cemetery, after a funeral service had been held at 8 o'clock in the family residence and at half past 9 o'clock in the St. John's Catholic Church. Father L. Plumann officiated. The coffin and flower bearers were Paul Partee, Earl Grieser, Joseph Krummel, Clarence Nestleroad, Clayton Sanford, Otis Simmons, Isidor Breckler and Walter Wilhelm.

Mrs. Mary Barbillion
Mrs. Mary Barbillion, a born Smith and wife of Lorenz Barbillion, died on Tuesday morning about half past 5 o'clock after a lengthy illness in the family residence No. 935 Holgate Avenue at the age of 63 years. She leaves behind the spouse, two sons, three daughters, two brothers and two sisters. Her mortal remains will be buried Friday morning at 9 o'clock from the St. John's Catholic Church under the direction of Father G. H. Lang in the Riverside Cemetery.

Mrs. W. C. Rimer died on Saturday morning about 2 o'clock in her residence No. 707 West High street after a lengthy illness at the age of 69 years. She is survived by three daughters, namely Miss Ethel Rimer and Mrs. A. H. Latchaw, who reside in Defiance, and one daughter in Oklahoma City, Okla. Her spouse William C. Rime preceded her in death. The Christian burial of the mortal remains took place on Monday afternoon.

Jonathan Lewis
Jonathan Lewis, war veteran and one of the pioneers of this countryside, died on Monday morning about 8 o'clock after just a few days illness in his residence No. 108 Auglaize Avenue from a heart condition. He was born on the 14th of May 1839 and thus was almost 77 years old. He had served in the Civil War as a member of Co. B of the 68th Ohio Volunteer Infantry. Surviving him are the widow, two sons and four daughters. His remains will be buried Thursday afternoon under the direction of Pastor E. Crist from the former residence and the English Methodist Church in the Riverside Cemetery. His comrades from the Grand Army will accompany him to the grave.

Karl Palm
Karl Palm died on Wednesday evening of the previous week about 6 o'clock in Toledo in his residence on Page Street at the age of about 52 years after a lengthy illness from a heart condition, to which edema was eventually included. He was born in Mecklenburg-Schwerin and came to this country about 30 years ago. In Defiance, where he worked for the butcher Christ. Gottwald, he only stayed for about 2 years. Then he settled in Toledo and operated a meat and grocery store there. Surviving him are the widow, two sons, three daughters, the brothers Louis F. Palm of here and Johann Palm in Toledo, as well as the sisters Mrs. Rudolph Kenning in Defiance and Mrs. Anna Holmes in Toledo.
The remains were given Christian burial Saturday morning in Toledo. Louis F. Palm and Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Kenning from here attended the burial.
