John C. Zachrich, son of the late Wilhelm Zachrich and his surviving widow Katharine Zachrich, died on Sunday morning about 3 o'clock in his residence on East Hopkins Street at the age of 39 years, 5 months and 4 days. He was born on the South Ridge, but in the last years had lived in Defiance and was a competent joiner. On the 19th of June 1907 he married Miss Emma Dirr, who with the children Helen, Elmer and Tillie survives. Additionally left behind are the mother, three brothers and five sisters. His remains were taken Tuesday afternoon under the direction of Pastor F. A. Kiess from the former residence and the St. John's Lutheran Church to the grave in the graveyard of the St. Stephan's congregation on the South Ridge.

Mrs. Mathilde Müller
Mrs. Mathilde Müller, a born Brown and widow of Wilhelm H. Müller who died in Ney in February 1918, died on Thursday morning on the return trip from California, where since September she had been on a visit to her son Christ. Müller, on a train of the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad not far from Gary, Indiana, suddenly from a heart condition. She became ill shortly after the departure from Chicago, and by the arrival of the train in Gary, where it was thought to take her to the hospital, she had already passed away. Her remains were brought Friday morning from Gary to Ney to the residence of her daughter Mrs. Edward Bergmann and on Wednesday afternoon from the Methodist Church there to the Riverside Cemetery here (and laid) next to her spouse and her son George. Mrs. Müller resided earlier in Defiance and is a niece of Mr. R. Brown. She was 69 years old and leaves behind, besides the aforementioned two children, nine grandchildren.

Mrs. Margarethe Wolfrum
In the residence of her son Wilhelm Wolfrum on Riverside Ave., on Friday about noon Margarethe Wolfrum, a born Winter and widow of the late Johann Wolfrum, died at theage of 72 years and 11 months. Besides the aforementioned son she leaves behind the sons Adam Andreas and Karl, as well as the daughter Mrs. George Sauer. Her remains were buried Monday afternoon from the St. Stephan's Evangelical Lutheran Church on the South Ridge under the direction of Pastor C. H. Schroeder and buried in the graveyard of the congregation.

Lillian Nelson
Lillian Nelson (Reichmann) died on Thursday evening about half past 10 o'clock in the residence of her foster parents, Mr. and Mrs. Franz Reichmann on the South Ridge, after a lengthy illness. A few months ago she came down with nervous fever and as this was overcome, the weakened nature which ran in her family fell victim to tuberculosis. Lillian was born on the 20th of May 1900 and thus had brought her lifetime to 16 years and not quite 6 months. In her early childhood she lost her parents, Frank and Anna Nelson, and the orphan then found a home with Mr. and Mrs. Reichmann, which they could not have done better for their own daughter, and the most faithful care in her serious illness. Besides the foster parents she leaves behind only the brother Charles Nelson, who with Company G is stationed on the Mexican border, as well as the brother William. With them, many friends mourn her premature death.
The burial took place Saturday afternoon from the former residence and the St. Stephan's Evangelical Lutheran Church in the congregation's graveyard. Pastor C. Schröder, who had confirmed Lillian on Palm Sunday in 1913, officiated. The pallbearers were Erwin Tröger, Roy Bauer, Richard Greenler, Erwin Goller, Hermann and Ferdinand Zachrich; the beautiful floral pieces were carried by Caroline Tröger, May Max, Laurena and Lottie Goller, Florence Ort, Nora Zachrich.

Mrs. Emilie Elisabeth Balske
Towards evening on Wednesday of this week, in the family residence on Summit Street, died Emilie Elisabeth Balske, a born Heckler and wife of August Balske, after an illness of a few months. She was born on the 24th of November 1845 in Hesse-Darmstadt, but came as a two year old little girl to this country and had spent the greater art of her life here. Left behind are the spouse, with whom she was wed on the 12th of December 1869 by the late Pastor Adam Detzer, two sons, five daughters, nine grandchildren and one brother. The burial will take place Saturday afternoon under the direction of Pastor J. F. Lorch from the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in the Riverside Cemetery.
