Carl Schmick died Thursday morning in Albuquerque, N.M., after a lengthy illness from a lung complaint. He was the only son of Henry Schmick, who in earlier years had been the sheriff of Defiance County, and his wife Lizzie. Carl was born here and spent the greater part of his life in Defiance, where at last he was a member of the firm Watkins & Schmick. He had served as a member of company M in the Spanish-American war and moved a number of years ago to the south, for health reasons. Surviving are three sisters residing here, Miss Alice, Miss Eda, and Miss Cora Schmick. Both parents and one sister died before him. He had brought his age to almost 40 years. The remains arrived here Monday morning and on the afternoon of the same day at 2 o'clock were taken from the family residence, No. 802 Clinton Street, to the Riverside cemetery for burial. Pastor Curtis E. shields officiated.
Acting as pallbearers were the deceased's war comrades Hermann Spangler, J. H. Houck, J. H. Niederhauser, Syl. Garver, Charles Tiller and Gale Hale. Also, a delegation from the National Union and the Eagles gave their society-brother an escort to the grave.

Anna Maria Keiser
Anna Maria Keiser, wife of Delbert Keiser and a daughter of Daniel Stevens and his wife Magdalena, born Sauer, died Monday at 11:25 AM in her residence in Defiance township after a lengthy illness from a lung complaint. She was born on the 21st of October 1870 in New Bavaria. On the 5th of February 1893 she married Delbert Keiser, who survives her with two children 17 and 8 years of age. Also left behind are her parents, three brothers and three sisters.
The burial will take place Thursday morning in the Riverside cemetery. The funeral celebration at half past nine in the former residence and at ten o'clock here in the St. John's Reformed Church will be presided over by Pastor N. E. Bitz.
Thomas Williams
Thomas Williams, of Delaware Township, died in the Poorhouse Monday night at the age of 81 years. The burial took place Wednesday in the cemetery at the institution.

Lowell E. Andrews
Lowell E. Andrews, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. F.L. Andrews in Independence, died on Monday morning between 2 and 3 o'clock at the age of 8 months and 21 days. The cause of death is unknown. The burial took place Wednesday morning from the former residence to the Riverside cemetery here.

Johann Vogel
Johann Vogel, an unmarried man, was discovered as a corpse in his residence on Auglaize Avenue on Saturday evening about 7 o'clock. He had a saw in his hands and stood to all appearances still in the process of preparing some kindling, when a (?stroke) attack put a period to his life. A friend by the name of Lede Morris, who when he got no response to his knocking at Vogel's door and then entered the house, found the already cold remains. when the death occurred, could not be established exactly; but without a doubt, it was caused by a heart attack.
Johann Vogel was 64 years, 7 months and 25 days old. He is survived by the siblings Mrs. Peter Schaaf in North Richland, Mrs. Adam Max in Highland and George Vogel in South-Richland. His remains were taken Sunday afternoon to Hoffman's Funeral Parlor (Corpse Preparation Business) and Monday afternoon from there buried in the Riverside cemetery. Pastor W. C. Demuth officiated.

George A. Wilsberg
George A. Wilsberg, the eldest son of the couple George and Mathilde Wilsberg residing here at No. 417 Washington street, died suddenly in his residence in Fayette, Ohio on Saturday afternoon, after he had been ill for a week.
He was born on the 21st of April 1880 and thus had brought his lifetime to 33 years, 6 months and 11 days. on the 6th of July 1904 Father Gloden married him to Miss Mary A. Daubel, a daughter of the couple Joseph and Barbara Daubel. From this marriage three children resulted; one of them died before the father, the two sons Harold and Paul mourn with the deeply-sorrowing widow the premature passing of the head of the family. Also left behind are his father and mother, sister Miss Tine Wilsberg and brother Frank Wilsberg, all of whom reside in Defiance. George A. Wilsberg worked for nine years in an apothecary in Garrett, and had been located since March of this year in Fayette in Henry C. King's Apothecary. The father and father-in-law of the deceased traveled Sunday morning to Fayette and on Monday afternoon brought the mortal remains hither to the Wilsberg family residence. The Christian burial took place Wednesday morning from the St. John's Catholic Church under the direction of Father J. P. Gloden in the Riverside cemetery. The Catholic Knights of Ohio, of whom the deceased was a lodge brother, gave him an escort to the grave.
