Daniel Aschbacher died on Monday evening shortly after six o'clock in his residence in South Richland without a previous illness, from a stroke attack. Born on the 7th of April 1848 at Thomashardt, Württemberg, he immigrated to this country in the fall of 1864 and settled in this area, where he then spent the entire course of his life. In September 1872 he married Miss Maria Ellen Hiester, who preceded him in death in April 1908. Surviving him are the two sons Ervin and Arnold with five grandchildren, as well as the brothers Charles and John in Defiance, William in North Dakota, and August in Toledo and the sister Mrs. Rosa D. Arning in Defiance. He was a good citizen and a good neighbor, whom many friends will mourn. The burial will take place Thursday morning at 9 o'clock from the former residence and at 10 o'clock from the St. John's Reformed Church under the direction of Pastor H. B. Robrock in the Riverside Cemetery.

Charles Dittmer
Charles Dittmer died on Sunday evening ten minutes after nine o'clock in the residence of his sister Mrs. Minnie Kohlinger in Ft. Wayne, Ind., where he had been taken from Woodburn, Indiana, after a lengthy siege from a complicated illness. He was born here 48 years ago as the son of Wilhelm F. and Wilhelmine Dittmer and had spent his entire lifetime in Defiance. A long time ago he was employed as a tailor, part of the time with his father and then also for a time on his own, and acted for many years as a letter carrier in the service of the Post office. He was a goodhearted man, whose premature death will be sincerely mourned by many friends. Remaining behind are the elderly widowed mother, who was with him when he passed away, and the sister Mrs. Minnie Kohlinger. The remains arrived here Monday noon on the Wabash Railroad and after a funeral service in the chapel under the direction of Pastor F. A. Kiess were buried in the Riverside Cemetery.

Maria Sophia Dorothea Magdalena Kruse
Maria Sophia Dorothea Magdalena Kruse, the widow of the late Joachim Christian Kruse, who preceded her in death 9 years ago, and a born Wendt, died on Tuesday of the previous week in the residence of her son John Kruse in Ridgeville Township, Henry County, at the great age of 92 years, 6 months and 28 days. She was born in Gummern bei Schnackenburg, Hannover, came many years ago to this country and settled on the North Ridge, where she spent the rest of her life and enjoyed high regard in a large circle of friends and relatives. She leaves behind the two sons John and Friedrich and the sister Mrs. Wilhelmine Dittmer, residing in Defiance. The burial took place on Friday afternoon with a large attendance from the St. John's Evan9elical Lutheran Church under the direction of Pastor B. F. Oldenburg. Maria Schall
Miss Maria Schall from Highland Township, who on Monday of the previous week was brought to Defiance to the hospital, died there on Monday evening of this week from (a form of) cancer. Her remains were taken to Martin's undertaking establishment to be prepared for burial and on the next morning taken to her residence in Highland Township. The burial took place Wednesday afternoon under the direction of Pastor C. Schröder from the St. Stephan's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Miss Schall was born on the 22nd of March 1839 in Highland Township and is therefore 77 years, 8 months and 19 days old. Surviving her are the brothers John, Jakob and Georg Schall residing here. we wish the deceased, after her severe pain, the eternal rest.

Mrs. Mathilde Moon
Mrs. Mathilde Moon, widow of the late John Moon, died on Thursday morning of the previous week in her residence No. 1056 Grove Street from the infirmities of age, after she had brought her earthly pilgrimage to 78 years, 6 months and 1 day. Mrs. Moon leaves behind a large group of children and step-children and various descendants. Her remains were taken to the grave under the direction of Dr. E. O. Crist from the former residence to the Riverside Cemetery. Pallbearers were T. C. Morris, C. B. Morris, S. W. Morris, Charles Lester, Ray Morris and Rollie Morris. The flower bearers were Audrey Karr, Mary Karr, Helen Morris and Carrie Morris.
