We bring (you) herewith a good portrait of our dear old friend, Michael Thieroff from south Richland, who recently after a more than 83 year pilgrimage here below went to his eternal rest. We had ordered this portrait for our previous issue and fully expected it, but in the current circumstances one must take whatever comes.
It was erroneously stated in our last week issue, that Mr. Thieroff was the last of the surviving pioneers of the south Ridge. There is still one pioneer of that countryside remaining, who has also tasted the cares and labors of life to the dregs, namely Mr. Killian Hohenberger, who has resided in Defiance in retirement for a long time and is well into his eighties.

Pastor H. Diemer
About five o'clock last Wednesday morning in his residence in Seymour, Indiana, Pastor H. Diemer, who was also well known in this area, died at the age of 65 years. Of his hard life (it) will shortly be reported in his own hand in this newspaper. The deceased served years ago in the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran congregation in Ridgeville Township, Henry County, and was also for many years shepherd of souls of the St. Stephan's Evangelical Lutheran congregation on the south Ridge. Since over a year ago, due to his failing health he was no longer able to follow his profession. He was a faithful servant of the word, whose passing will be sincerely mourned by his many friends in this area.
Remaining behind are the widow, the daughter Miss Emma, as well as the sons Martin, Paul, and Gerhard, of whom the two latter reside near Fraser, Mich. The burial took place on Saturday afternoon in Seymour.
