Mrs. Mathilde Koch, a widow, died on the previous Wednesday in her residence in Noble Township at the age of 88 years, 6 months and 6 days. Her remains were buried Friday morning from the Evangelical Church under the direction of Pastor C. Peoples in the Clinker Cemetery. The pallbearers were W. A. Warfield, D. M. Koch, C. F. Koch, H. L. Lang, G. A. Lang and W. F. Lang. The deceased was the widow of Tillman Koch, formerly resident in south Defiance.
Wilhelmine Auguste Anderson, daughter of William and Edith Beindorf in Delaware township and wife of Oscar H. Anderson, died on Tuesday shortly after one o'clock in the afternoon in the Defiance Hospital, where on the previous Thursday an operation on her had taken place. She was baptized and confirmed in the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church and on the 19th of February 1908 married by the Pastor R. E. M. Enger with Oscar E. Anderson. The only infant of this marriage preceded her in death. surviving her are the widower, the parents, four brothers and two sisters. She had brought her age to 27 years, 1 month and 9 days. The funeral service will be Thursday afternoon at half past 1 o'clock in the residence on upper Jackson Street and at 2 o'clock in the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church under the direction of Pastor F. A. Kiess.
Mrs. Mary E. Gessner died on Tuesday evening shortly before six o'clock in her residence at 508 North Clinton Street at the age of almost 70 years from a cancer ailment. She hailed from Würzburg, Bavaria and resided since 1872 in Defiance. Her spouse John F. Gessner died 12 years ago, her son Charles about 20 years ago. She had no other relatives. The burial will take place on Friday morning at 9 o clock under the direction of Father L. Plumann from the St. John's Catholic Church in the Riverside Cemetery.

Harvey Scharnicka
Harvey Scharnicka, son of Fred. and Ruby Scharnicka, died on Tuesday morning in the residence of his mother in Pleasant Township, Henry County, from consumption. He was only ill for five weeks and was 15 years old to the day. Surviving him are the mother, four sisters and three brothers; his father died on the 11th of December of the previous year. The burial will take place on Thursday morning at 10 o'clock from the St. Paul's Methodist Church on the South Ridge under the direction of Pastor Henry Maag from Defiance.

Miss Karene Evans
Miss Karene Evans, daughter of Mr and Mrs. Joseph A. Evans, on Monday evening about 11 o'clock in the parental residence at 401 Jefferson Avenue was freed by death from an extremely lengthy and painful illness. She was 26 years and 14 days old and leaves behind the parents, the brother Hugh currently stationed overseas in military (war) service and the sister Mrs. Mabel Haley in Ft. Wayne. With them, many friends mourn the death of the very beloved young lady. The burial will take place Thursday morning at half past 9 o'clock from the St. Mary's catholic Church in the Riverside Cemetery.
