Mrs. David Wissler of Tiffin Township died in the night of Wednesday of the previous week in New London, Ohio, in the residence of her daughter Mrs. Nora Meach, where she had spent the last month on a visit, at the age of about 81 years. she is especially well known in Tiffin Township, where she has resided for over sixty years. Besides the already mentioned daughter, the following children remain behind: Mrs. John Harriman and Edward Wissler in Tiffin Township, Fred Wissler in North Dakota and Willis Wissler in Toledo. The mortal remains of the elderly lady were taken to Tiffin Township on Friday for Christian burial.

Miss Fannie Gray
Miss Fannie Gray died on Sunday towards evening in the residence of Mr. Frank Speaker in Farmer Township at the age of 33 years less a day after a few days illness. She was born in Delaware Township and moved later with her parents to Defiance, where she resided up until a few years ago. Her mother preceded her in death about ten years ago; her father Glen Gray resides here at No. 1015 Holgate Avenue. Many friends mourn the death of the young lady, who was held in high esteem by all her acquaintances. Her mortal remains were brought hither Monday evening to the residence of Mr. C. P. Harley on Holgate Avenue and Wednesday afternoon from there to the Riverside Cemetery for Christian burial. Dr. B. W. Slagle and Pastor C. E. Shields officiated.

Arthur S. Smith
Arthur S. Smith, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Smith in Antwerp, Ohio, there on Friday afternoon about 4 o'clock died a sudden death. The past few years he has lived on the old Riek farm on the Ft. Wayne Street. Out of health concerns he decided recently to give up farming and devote a year to recovery. To this end he had moved to Antwerp on Thursday, where on Friday afternoon, while he sat in his father's place of business, the death occurred. Without a doubt, his sudden passing can be traced back to heart disease. The deceased was 35 years old to the day, and leaves behind a widow, a born Cromley, the parents, two brothers and four sisters. His remains were brought hither to the residence of Mr. Frank Newill on Jefferson Street and on Monday afternoon were buried from the English Methodist Church to the Riverside Cemetery. Pastor W. W. Lance from Celina, Ohio, officiated.

Mrs. Bridget Hanker
Mrs. Bridget Hanker, a born Moran and wife of William Hanker, died Thursday evening about 8 o'clock in the family residence No. 820 Francis Street after a lengthy illness from stomach cancer. She was 50 years, 2 months and 1 day old and leaves behind the widower with two children. The burial took place Saturday morning at 9 o'clock from the St. Mary's Catholic Church under the direction of Father J. A. Lanes to the Riverside Cemetery. Pallbearers were the Mr's John Kinner, M. A. Costello, A. C. Pessefall, Fred. H. Gerken, C. R. Weaver and Rich. L. Watson; flower bearers (were) women from the "Ladies Relief and Benefit Society", to which last society the deceased had belonged.

Elisabeth Killion
Elisabeth Killion, wife of Mr. John R. Killion residing at No. 320 East Hopkins Street, died on the past Friday afternoon about 3:20 after a lengthy illness in the family residence at the age of 68 years. Surviving her are the widower, the sons Perry and John Killion of here, as well as the daughters Mrs. W. M. Metson in Bellevue, Mrs. Earl Spangler in Toledo and Mrs. Paul Davidson of here. Besides these remaining behind are two brothers, two sisters and five grandchildren. The burial took place Monday morning from the St. Mary's Catholic Church under the direction of Father J. A. Lanes to the Riverside Cemetery. The pallbearers were Michael Ziegler, Jr., John Butsch, John Schamberger, John Bock, Otto Pieter and James Lafountaine.

Mrs. Marian Culkins
Mrs. Marian Culkins, widow of the Ray Culkins who died at the beginning of February 1909 here in Defiance and a daughter of the married couple Florian and Clementine Klingele, died on Friday evening about 6 o'clock in the residence of her mother in Delaware Township after a lengthy illness, during which she received the most faithful care. She was born on the 14th of January 1883 in Delaware Township. On the 3rd of December 1902 she married Ray Culkins and immediately moved with him to Denver Colorado, where the couple had their home until shortly before the death of the husband. The deceased leaves behind her widowed mother, a 12 year old daughter, the sisters residing here Mrs. J. F. Heimrich, Mrs. Louis Krutsch and Mrs. Joseph Schottdorf, the sister Miss Tillie in the parental home and the brother Jacob in Hicksville. The funeral service took place Monday morning with a large attendance and under the direction of Father A. Butels from Bryan in the Catholic Church in Marysdale and the interment of the mortal remains took place afterwards in the Riverside Cemetery.
The pallbearers were Frank Mack, Joseph Sysco, Frank Kolb, John Leroy, Justin Mack and Anthony Singer.
