Sanford Posey died Thursday morning in Evansport in the residence of his daughter Mrs. J. W. Shuter at the age of 88 years and 13 days. He hailed from Washington County, Ohio, and settled in the fall of the year 1857 on a farm in Springfield Township, Williams County. Since the death of his spouse Jane, born Paxton, on the 2nd of January 1912, he has lived in Evansport with his daughter. His remains were buried Sunday afternoon from the former residence under the auspices of the Evansport Lodge of the Freemasons, whose eldest member he was: Pastor J. Ingle officiated.

Martha Hepler
Martha Hepler, a born Beker and wife of John Hepler, who resides in the Soldiers' Home in Sandusky, died on Saturday shortly after midnight in the residence of her daughter Mrs. Anna Smith on Washington Ave. at the age of 78 years, 1 month and 12 days. Besides the aforementioned daughter is left behind the son Geo. E. Hepler in Chicago. The deceased had resided for almost her entire life in Defiance and was a faithful spouse and caring mother. Her burial took place Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock under the direction of Father L. Plumann from the St, John's Catholic Church in the Riverside Cemetery.

Bertha Marie Ryan
Bertha Marie Ryan, a born Falk and wife of David H. Ryan, died on Tuesday afternoon of the previous week in Akron, Ohio, from a complicated illness, which followed the blue(?!) coughs. She was born in Defiance on the 29th of May 1882 as the daughter of the (married) couple Wilhelm and Karoline Falk, baptized and confirmed in the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, and on the 18th of January 1908 wed by Pastor Kiess with David H. Ryan. She leaves behind the widower, the 8 year old son William, the parents and the brothers Charles and Edward. Her remains were brought hither Wednesday afternoon to the parental residence No. 720 Ottawa Avenue and on Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock buried from the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in the Riverside Cemetery. Since Pastor Kiess was ill, Pastor C. H. Schröder from the South Ridge acted at the burial.

Edward C. Brady
Edward C. Brady died on Saturday morning about 1 o'clock after a lengthy illness in the residence of his father Edward W. Brady, No. 854 Clinton Street, from consumption. On the10th of March he would have been 34 years old. Surviving him are the father, the three sisters Mrs. Gertrude Daoust, Mrs. Mabel Herman and Miss Grace Brady, as well as the two brothers Ralph and Carl Brady. On Monday morning after a funeral service in the St. Mary's Catholic Church his remains were taken to the grave in the Riverside Cemetery. Pallbearers were Edwin Crowe, Virgil Weisenburger, Harry Bakle, Alvin Blanchard and Joseph A. Eck.

George W. Klein
George W. Klein died on Saturday morning at almost half past 2 o'clock in the Defiance Hospital, where on the previous afternoon he had been operated on by Doctors Rigrish, Powell and Huffman for a complicated lower abdominal complaint. He was 36 years old and leaves behind the spouse -- a born Weisenburger -- two little daughters, the aged mother, four brothers and six sisters. His remains were buried Monday afternoon from the former residence and the St. John's Reformed Church under the direction of Pastor H. B. Robrock in the Riverside Cemetery. The deceased belonged to the Fire Department, (which supplied) the following pallbearers: Lem Sapp, August Biebach, John Scheuermann, Louis Spring, Julius Spengler and Peter F. Seibel.

Angelina Biker
Angelina Biker, wife of John Biker, on the morning of the 29th of May, in the residence of her son George Dudley in Toledo, found in an easy death release from a lengthy siege of illness. She had reached 59 years, 6 months and 5 days in age. Her remains were brought hither Wednesday evening to the residence of her brother Edward Hatfield. From there and the St. John's Reformed Church, the interment of the mortal remains took place Thursday afternoon under the direction of Pastor H. B. Robrock in the Riverside Cemetery. Acting as pallbearers were Jakob Baltes, George P. Wohn, Michael Ziegler, Wm. Derge, Jakob Fillmann and T. J. Leaming. The White Swan Council, the German Womens' Sickness Support Society and the Ladies Relief & Benefit Society gave their deceased Sister accompaniment to the grave.
