The deceased leaves behind the widow Nettie, a born Eis, four children and the mother. The burial took place Tuesday afternoon at three o'clock from the Methodist Church in Ayersville in the graveyard there, under the direction of Pastor Allen Manahan.

Rachel E. Bechtol, wife of Sydney D. Bechtol, died on Tuesday of the previous week in Ann Arbor, Mich. Any other details about her life are unknown to us. The mortal remains arrived here Friday morning aboard the Wabash Railroad and were taken to Florida. There on Saturday morning a funeral service took place in the Methodist Church, after which the remains were buried in the Independence Cemetery. Pastor Conrad from Holgate officiated at the funeral service. Pallbearers were the Mr's William Hull, Fred. Biederstedt, Adolphus Rasmus, Louis Hammon, Fred. Miller and George King.

Jacob Krantz
Jacob Krantz, a retired farmer, died on Monday morning in his residence No. 1108 Schultz Street from the infirmities of age and a complicated illness. He hailed from Wood County, Ohio, came many years ago to this area and practiced agriculture here up until a few years ago. He served in the Civil War with Co. E of the 111th Ohio Volunteer infantry Regiment and received in service severe injuries to both ankles. He had brought his age to 70 years, 11 months and 16 days. Left behind are the widow and a few grown children. His remains were buried from the former residence in the Riverside Cemetery Wednesday afternoon under the auspices of the Bishop Post of the Grand Army. Pastor W. C. Demuth officiated.

Mrs. Mary B. Jarvis
Mrs. Mary B. Jarvis, daughter of the (married) couple William A. and Harriet M. Brown and widow of James J. Jarvis, died Saturday evening about 9:40 in the residence of her daughter Mrs. Robert G. Holgate No. 304 Third Street after a three week illness from a brain ailment. She was born on the 30th of August 1849 in Defiance and on the 17th of October 1871 here married James J. Jarvis, to whom she presented four daughters and one son. The son, one daughter and the spouse all died before her. Left behind are the three daughters Mrs. Robert G. Holgate and Mrs. Walter Shelly of here and Mrs. Francis Lowe in Melrose, Massachusetts, four grandchildren and the two brothers Frank A. Brown and Fred. H. Brown in Chicago. The burial took place Tuesday afternoon from the former residence in the Riverside Cemetery. The Pastors Frank A. Zimmerman and B. W. Slagle officiated.

David Stough Kettenring, young son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles H. Kettenring, died on Monday morning shortly before four o'clock in the parental residence on Holgate Ave. at the age of 3 years and almost 7 months. The burial took place Wednesday afternoon from the former residence in the Riverside Cemetery.

Arthur William Scharnicka
Arthur William, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Friedrich Scharnicka in Pleasant Township, Henry County, died on Tuesday morning about 8 o'clock at the age of 11 months and 17 days. The Christian burial of the little remains will take place Thursday morning in the Cemetery in New Bavaria. Pastor C. W. Helwig from Defiance will officiate at the funeral service, which will be at 9 o'clock in the family residence and at 10 o'clock in the Methodist Church on the South Ridge.

Eli Marckel
Eli Marckel, who had his home for many years in Adams Township and is very well known there, died on Tuesday of the previous week in his residence in Paulding County after a very short illness. Without any previous serious illness, on Monday of the previous week he had a brain hemorrhage that already on the next day led to his death. The deceased had reached an age of 70 years and is survived by the widow and a few children. He was a good citizen and as such was also held in high regard by his many acquaintances. His remains were brought on Friday to Adams Township for Christian burial. The deceased was a son of Ephraim Marckel, who settled in Adams Township in about the year 1839, and was, as far as is known, born in that township.

Helen Pauline, newborn infant daughter of Mr. Karl Schäfer and his Wife Louise, born Goldfuss, died Monday afternoon in the home of the grandfather Ewald Goldfuss on Columbus Ave., after having been baptized about noon by Pastor F. A. Kiess. Godparents were Wilhelm and Martha Goldfuss. The tiny remains were given Christian burial on Tuesday in the Riverside Cemetery.

The burial took place Saturday morning from the Catholic Church in Marysdale (Mud Creek) in the congregation's graveyard. Father J. Hensbach from The Bend officiated.
