Elisabeth C. Jackman, wife of Thomas Jackman, died on Friday morning in the family residence No. 509 East Hopkins Street at the age of 76 Y.ears, 8 months and 27 days. she leaves behind the widower and a number of grown children. Her remains were sent on Monday to Erie, Mich. for burial, after a funeral service had been held under the direction of Father James A. Lane at 9 o'clock in the morning in the St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Mrs. Elisabeth Degginger, a born Ohlinger and widow of Louis Degginger, who passed away here a few years ago, died on Sunday evening about half past 8 in the family residence No. 514 Harrison Avenue. Defiance was her home for over half a century and she was 81 years, 10 months and 20 days old. Three sons and three daughters are left behind, of whom one son and one daughter reside here. Her mortal remains were taken Wednesday afternoon to the grave in the Riverside Cemetery.

Mrs. Ida Foss
Mrs. Ida Foss, wife of Mr J. Henry Foss, died on Saturday morning at half past 5 o'clock in the family residence on East Main Street after only a three week illness, from nerve-fever (Typhoid fever). She was born on the 16th of July 1875 as the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Lantow in Tiffin township and spent her child and youth years in the parental home. She was baptized, instructed and confirmed in the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. On the 22nd of February 1894 she was wed by the late Pastor G. M. Zucker with Mr. J. Henry Foss and since then had made her home in Defiance, where she acquired a large circle of friends. Mourning her death with the widower are the following children, all of whom reside in Defiance: Mrs. F. H. Gerken, Mrs. Mildred Zimmermann, Earl, Lester, Harold and Lillian Foss. Also left behind are the brother William Lantow in Reading, Mich., as well as the sisters Mrs. Alva J. Terry of here, Mrs. Sophia Hinkel in Toledo and Mrs. Malvin Voght in Earlin, Ohio. She belonged to the womens' society "Harmonia" of the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran congregation , a lifelong faithful member. Her remains were taken Tuesday morning to the grave in the Riverside Cemetery after a funeral service had been held in the former residence and in the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church under the direction of Pastor F. A. Kiess.
Pallbearers at the burial were the Mr's Carl Fessel, Reinhold Franzdorf, John Reineke, Heinrich Röhrs, Hermann Klenk and Sam. J. Gruner.

Lucy E. Lewis died on Sunday evening about 6 o'clock in her residence in North Richland from diabetes at the age of 69 years, 1 month and 18 days. She was a widow and leaves behind several grown children. Her remains were taken to the grave in Rohn Cemetery on Wednesday afternoon under the direction of Pastor E. L. Day.

Mrs. Sophia Röhrs
Mrs. Sophia Röhrs, wife of Mr John Röhrs and a born Bostelmann, died Sunday morning about 2 o'clock in the family residence in Noble Township after a three week illness from pneumonia. She was born on the 1st of June 1884 as daughter of the married couple Heinrich F. and Minna Bostelmann in Adams Township and was baptized and confirmed by the late Pastor C. Strauss. On the 23rd of November 1909 she married Mr. John Röhrs, who with four small children survives. Left behind also are the father, the stepmother, the siblings Julian Bostelmann in Liberty Township, Henry County and Mrs. Wilhelm Meyer in Delaware Township, as well as the step-siblings Mrs. Karl Baden, Miss Ella Bostelmann, Hermann and Otto Bostelmann in Adams Township. Mrs. Röhrs had brought her lifetime to only 33 years, 10 months and 20 days. The burial took place Wednesday morning in the Brunersburg Cemetery, after Pastor F. A. Kiess had held a funeral service at 9 o'clock in the former residence and at 10 o'clock in the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Our sincere sympathy to all the survivors.

Mrs. Karl Bockelmann
Mrs. Karl Bockelmann died in her residence in Napoleon Township on Tuesday evening about half past eight o'clock, Mrs. Dorothea Bockelmann, wife of Mr. Karl Bockelmann and a daughter of the late J. Wilhelm Baden and his surviving widow, died after a lengthy siege from consumption. She was born about 30 years ago in Adams Township and was baptized and confirmed by the late Pastor C. Strauss.
On the 4th of May 1911 she married Mr. Karl Bockelmann, who survives her with three small sons. Also left behind are the mother and the two brothers Friedrich and Karl in Adams Township, the brother Heinrich in Toledo and the two half-sisters Mrs. Georg Ludermann near Thomas, Oklahoma, and Mrs. Friedrich Rathge in Kendallville, Indiana. With them, a large circle of friends mourn her premature passing.
