Andreas Henry Miller, son of the married couple Earl J. and Maria Miller, died on Sunday afternoon just before 3 o'clock in the parental residence No. 1016 Wilhelm Street after an illness of several weeks. The exact nature of his illness was a mystery to the doctors, but from the symptoms was very likely an ulceration of the lungs.
Andreas H. Miller was born on the 17th of February 1893 in Defiance and in the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church baptized and confirmed. Grown to a youth, he helped his father and brother in the business, until the pernicious ailment seized him. He was liked by all acquaintances, and a large number mourn with the family his untimely passing. He had brought his lifetime to only 22 years, 4 months and 24 days. Left behind besides the parents are the brother George E. Miller, as well as the sisters Mrs. Anna Reid and the Misses Emma and Hattie Miller.
The burial took place Tuesday afternoon in the Riverside Cemetery, after Pastor F. A. Kiess had held a funeral service at half past 1 o'clock in the former residence and at 2 o'clock in the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. The pallbearers were Raymond Wohn, Theo. Kiess, Stewart Dürk, Walter Dürk, Oscar Seibel and Christ. Dürk. The lovely floral pieces were carried by Martin Zachrich, Harry Fessel, Otto Dürk, Hugo Pracht, Emma Dietsch, Esther Ruess, Esther Kiess and Julia Dürk.
Charles A. Röhrig, young son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis A. Röhrig, died on last Wednesday morning about eight o'clock in the parental residence in Adams Township at the age of 7 years, 3 months and 17 days. The burial took place Friday morning from the former residence and the Dunkard Church in the congregation's graveyard. Pastor John Flory officiated.

Ruth McBroom
Ruth McBroom, one of the infant twin daughters , with which Mr. and Mrs. Clarence McBroom of Washington Street were blessed on the Sunday before last, died on Saturday evening about 5 o'clock. The little remains were buried Monday morning at half past seven o'clock under the direction of Father Lanes from the St. Mary's (Catholic) Church in the Riverside Cemetery.

Mrs. Mary Shinners
Mrs. Mary Shinners, wife of Edward Shinners, died on Monday evening shortly after 9 o'clock family residence in Tiffin Township at the age of 53 years to the day. She leaves behind the widower and a large number of children. The funeral service over the mortal remains will be held on Thursday morning at 9 o'clock in the St. Michael's Catholic Church in Adams Township.

Charles Pace
Charles Pace, for the last four years holding a position in the Mangas Hardware company, died Monday morning while he was sitting in a chair (?on a stool) on the veranda of Mrs. Philomena Sieren's boarding house on Fifth Street, suddenly from a heart attack. He had felt unwell for a few days and because of that on Monday morning had not gone to work. Coroner Chapman was summoned and registered the cause of death as heart attack. The remains were taken to Hoffmann's establishment for preparation for burial and on Wednesday were taken to the grave in Scott, Paulding County.
The deceased was 36 years old in June and leaves behind three children, the father Alfred Pace, who lives four miles west of here on the Ft. Wayne Road, the stepmother, two step-sisters and two step-brothers. His wife preceaed him in death a few years ago.

Mrs. J. A. Fribley
Mrs. J. A. Fribley died on Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the residence of her son H. R. Fribley in East Defiance from a growth in the brain at the age of 47 years, 5 months and 1 day.
She was born on the 8th of February 1868 in Evansport as the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Snider. In the year 1886 she married J. A. Fribley from Evansport and resided there until the move to Toledo a few months ago. She had been in Defiance on a visit to her son, when overtaken by the fatal disease. She leaves behind the husband, the sons Harley Fribley in Tiffin Township and H. R. Fribley of here, as well as the two brothers Willis A. Snider in Defiance and J. C. Snider in Evansport.
Her remains were taken Sunday afternoon from the Methodist Church in Evansport to the grave. Pastors Cummings and crow officiated.

Dr. Charles E. Slocum
Dr. Charles E. Slocum died on Monday evening in Flower Hospital in Toledo after a short illness. He was born on the 30th of December 1841 in Northville, N.Y., and thus is 73 years, 5 months and 8 days old. He came to Defiance in the year 1871 and operated a medical practice here until about five years ago. Since then he has resided in Toledo, but made regular visits to old patients in Defiance. Surviving him is his widow. His remains were brought to Defiance Wednesday afternoon and buried in the Riverside Cemetery under the auspices of the Toledo commandery No. 7 of the Knights Templar and the local Tuendawie Lodge.
