Mrs. Maria Elisabeth Duseberg, a born Mahres and widow of the late Karl Duseberg, died on the morning of the 5th of February in her residence on Franklin Avenue at the age of 69 years and 29 days.
She was born on the 7th of January in Vermillion, Erie County, Ohio and came young to this countryside where in the year 1880 she married the widower Karl Duseberg. of the three children whom she gave him, still living are the daughter Miss Klara residing here and the Eduard in Toledo. Also remaining behind are the stepsons Albert, John and Louis Dusaberg, the stepdaughter Mrs. Mary Jaques, fifteen grandchildren and four brothers. Her spouse preceded her in death on the 28th of March 1909. Since she suffered a stroke attack five years ago, her well-being was gone. Her end was caused by a heart ailment. The Christian burial of her remains took place Saturday afternoon from the former residence and the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church under the direction of Pastor F. A. Kiess in the Riverside Cemetery. Her sisters from the women's society "Harmonia," the "Ladies' Relief & Benefit Society" and the Women's Sickness Support Society of the city of Defiance accompanied her to the grave.

Sophia Maria Bohlmann
Sophia Maria Bohlmann, daughter of Mr. Heinrich Goldenetz and his wife Dorothea, first saw the light of day on the 4th of March 1855. At the age of 2 years she came with her parents from Mecklenburg to America and found here in Defiance a new home. On the 28th of November 1873 she entered into the state of holy matrimony with Mr. Heinrich Bohlmann. There were twelve children born to them, of whom five preceded their mother in death. Four years ago her spouse died also. In October of the past year the deceased took sick from the influenza, from which she recovered temporarily, but her life force appeared to be broken. A heart complaint, which had developed during her illness, made an end to her life. On the morning of the 5th of February she passed away in her sleep in her residence on Ottawa Avenue without a noticeable death struggle. She had brought her age to 63 years, 11 months and 1 day. She was a member of the Women's Society of the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran congregation, the Women's Sickness Support Society of the city of Defiance and the "Ladies' Relief & Benefit Society."
Remaining behind are the children Mrs. Dorothea Jäger, Mrs. Laura Sauber, Mrs. Anna Parker, Fred. in the Army in France, Bertha and Donelda Bohlmann, Mrs. Mathilda Maschler and thirteen grandchildren.
The Christian burial of her remains took place Friday afternoon from the family residence and the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church under the direction of Pastor J. F. Lorch in the Riverside Cemetery.

Hannah Gruner
Hannah Gruner, a born Miller, passed on Monday about half past 10 o'clock in the residence of her son S. J. Gruner at 866 Clinton Street through an easy death from Belief into vision. She was born on the 20th of January 1834 in Columbiana County, Ohio. On the 6th of November 1853 she married Dr. G. F. A. Wandt from New Washington, Ohio, to whom she gave two sons and two daughters; of these only the son August Wandt in Highland Township is still alive. On the 30th of March 1860 her spouse died and in the following year she entered into a second marriage with Mr. Samuel Gruner. Of the six children, with whom this marriage was blessed, only surviving are the son S. J. Gruner of here and the daughter Mrs. Amanda Marckel in Jewell. Mrs. Gruner came with her family to Defiance county in the year 1864 and her second spouse died here on the 31st of January 1872. Of her nine brothers, only Paul, Elias, Christ. and Solomon are still alive. Additionally there are left behind 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
