Mrs. Louise Maria Schultz, a born Krull, died on Thursday in Paulding County in the residence of her stepson Albert Schultz unexpectedly suddenly, although she had been ailing for most of the past few years, from a stroke attack. she was born on the 8th of October 1851 in Neuhaldensleben, Prussia as the daughter of Christian J. Krull and his wife Maria. In 1859 she came with her parents and siblings to Defiance, where she made her home up until about ten years ago. On the 27th of April 1876 she married Johann Christian Schultz, who preceded her in death on the 18th of May 1892. From this marriage resulted only the son Karl, residing in Cleveland, Ohio. (For) the last ten years Mrs Schultz has made her home almost constantly in Cleveland with her stepdaughter Mr.s Mathilde Neumann. A few weeks ago she made a trip to visit her stepson Albert Schultz in Paulding County, where on Thursday she was overtaken by death. She had brought her lifetime to 61 years, 10 months and 26 days. Both parents and three siblings, namely Wilhelm Krull, Hermann Krull and Mrs. Anna Wrede, died before her. Left behind are only the son, the two stepchildren, and the sister residing here, Mrs. Emma King, wife of Mr. A. W. King. Her remains arrived here Sunday morning aboard the Wabash train and were taken at 10 o'clock in the morning under the direction of Pastor L. H. Ziemer from the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church to the Riverside cemetery for burial.
Lay Whitney Richardson died on Monday morning shortly after one o'clock in his residence on the West Water Street from the infirmities of age. Born on the 25th of December 1830 in Canton, St. Lawrence County, New York, he came as a 19 year old youth with his parents and siblings to Defiance County and served at first as a teacher in the vicinity of Brunersburg. Later he operated a store in Napoleon, until he answered Lincoln's call to arms and went to the war in the Co. F of the Ohio Volunteer (Infantry) Regiment ?as a new recruit and advanced to Lieutenant Colonel. Since his mustering out on the 3rd of January 1865 in Savannah, Ga., he has resided for the most part in Defiance and followed a number of occupations. At the last he acted as a ?pension agent. Surviving him are his widow, a born Metz, the four children residing here, Mrs. Wright G. Lehman, Mrs. Hattie Slocum, Ralph R. Richardson, and Miss Nellie Richardson, the brother George Richardson in Reading, Mich., and the sister Mrs Eliza Moats in Delaware Township.

Mrs. Anna Ruder
Mrs. Anna Ruder, a born Hazelmeier and widow of Georg Ruder, who preceded her into Eternity over 35 years ago, died on Sunday afternoon about 4 o'clock in her residence in section 22 of Washington Township from the infirmities of age. She originated in the district of Tuttlingen in Württemberg and came to this country many years ago. After a few year sojourn in Medina county, Ohio, she came over 46 years ago to Defiance County and settled on the farm in Washington Township, where last Sunday she closed her eyes in her last slumber. She had brought her lifetime to 76 years, 3 months and 27 days. Left behind are the three children, Mrs. Mary Weber in Ney, John Ruder in Ney, and Wilhelm Ruder on the old homestead, as well as 14 grandchildren. The burial took place Wednesday morning from the Catholic Church in Marysdale under the direction of Father Theis in the congregation's cemetery.

Friedrich Rahmel
Friedrich Rahmel, son of the late Karl Rahmel and his wife Christine Rahmel, died on Tuesday morning in the parental residence in south Defiance.at the young age of 26 years, 10 months and 11 days. Born on the 15th of May 1886 in Germany, he came with his parents in the year 1893 to Defiance. Here he was brought up Christian and educated Christian and confirmed in the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Two years ago as a result of inhaling poison gases in his work in a factory he contracted a throat complaint, which developed into tuberculosis of the throat. He would gladly have kept living, to be able to support his widowed mother, but he submitted himself to God's decision and died in his sleep without a death struggle, after comforting his lamenting mother with the words: "Mother, now I am going to Heaven". Remaining behind with the mother are the siblings Mrs. Auguste Memmer, Karl, Wilhelm, Minna and Emilie Rahmel. The funeral service will be Thursday afternoon at 1 o'clock in the residence and at half past in the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Florence Beardsley
Mrs. Florence Beardsley, a born Nelson and the wife of Roy Beardsley, died on Sunday evening after a lengthy illness in the family residence on the lower Jefferson Street at the age of 27 years, 9 months and 16 days. she leaves behind her widower with three small children. Her remains were buried Wednesday morning under the direction of Pastor P. A. Crow in the Riverside cemetery.
