Wilhelmine Dorothea Fricke, born Leonhard, died Saturday evening about 11 o'clock in her residence No. 1010 Francis Street without any previous serious illness. She was born on the 5th of January 1843 at Harste in the province of Hannover. Her father died when she was five days old, and the mother, when she was nine days old; an aunt took her in and raised her. On the 12th of April 1867 she married the widower Heinrich Fricke in the year 1885 settled with him in Defiance, where he died about 16 years ago. Of the six children, to whom she gave life, Friedrich and Karl died in Germany and Ernst here as a two week old infant. Remaining behind are the step-son Hermann, the son Louis and the daughters Freda Wolfrum and Mrs. Sophia Franzdorf, as well as eleven grandchildren.
Her remains were buried Monday afternoon from the former residence and the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in the Riverside Cemetery. In the absence of his father, Pastor C. B. Folsch from Pittsburgh officiated. Pallbearers were Karl Spengler, A. Stoll, Christian Obermüller, Wm. Rieckhoff, August Wahl, H. Engelhardt.

Ellen A. Sauber
Ellen A. Sauber, wife of Bernhard N. Sauber, died on Friday evening about 4 o'clock after a lengthy illness in the residence of her daughter Mrs. John Fessel on Wayne Avenue at the age of a bit over 46 years. She came with her parents in 1880 from Paulding County to Defiance and here married Mr. Sauber, who with their only daughter survives. Additionally left behind are the parents, six brothers and four sisters. Her remains were taken to the grave on Sunday afternoon under the direction of Pastor H. Folsch from the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran congregation in the Riverside Cemetery.

Laurine Winter
Laurine Winter, Young daughter of Mr Adam Winter and his wife Emilie, born Böhm, died Friday morning about 3 o clock after a lengthy illness in the family residence on Franklin Street from sugar diabetes. The little one was the second eldest in the family and born on the 21st of September 1905 in Richland Township, so being only 10 years, 8 months and 19 days old. Mourning her death are the parents, two brothers and one sister. The little remains were buried Sunday afternoon in the Riverside Cemetery, after Pastor F. A. Kiess had held a funeral service at 1 o'clock in the former residence and at half past 1 o'clock in the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. The pallbearers were Mabel Schaufele, Emma Oehlke, Lydia Baumann, Edith Röhrs, Tillie Pracht and Orine Rathge; the flower bearers were Mildred Kiess, Olga Hacker, Mildred Schaufele and Helene Gerken.

Raymond L. Minsel
Raymond L. Minsel, the son of Alonzo Minsel of New Haven, Indiana, who earlier resided in North Richland, died on Wednesday morning in Ft. Wayne in the St. Joseph's Hospital at the age of about 10 years. The mother of the young lad is a daughter of Dr. J. K. Denman, who died in Sherwood this past winter. The small remains were brought hither on Saturday and laid temporarily in the Riverside chapel crypt, after a funeral service took place in the morning in New Haven.

Caroline S. Greenler
Caroline S. Greenler, a born Spangler and the widow of John S. Greenler, died on Monday evening shortly after 6 o'clock in the residence of her nephew Herman A. Spangler, No. 631 Holgate Ave., at the age of 75 years. She was born in the Swiss Canton of Schaffhausen and came young to this country. On the 31st of July 1879 she married John S. Greenler, who preceded her in death a few years ago. John Spangler in North Richland is a brother of the deceased. The burial took place Wednesday afternoon from the former residence and the St. John's Reformed Church. Pastor H. B. Robrock officiated.

Catherine S. Krotz
Catherine S. Krotz, a born Gorman and widow of merchant Alonzo Krotz who died many years ago, died on Thursday morning about half past two in her residence No. 933 Fifth Street after a lengthy illness at the age of 59 years, 4 months and 4 days. Surviving her are seven grown children, some of whom reside here, some elsewhere. The deceased had spent her entire lifetime in Defiance and was held in high esteem by her large circle of acquaintances. The burial of the mortal remains took place Monday morning from the St. Mary's Catholic Church in the Riverside Cemetery. Father James A. Lane officiated.
