Winetta Boyd, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Boyd, died on Friday in Chicago Junction, Ohio. Her remains were brought to Defiance on Sunday and buried in the Riverside Cemetery under the direction of Pastor W. O. Montague of the United Brethren Church. The little one was only nine months old.

Lillian Devault, wife of Charles Devault, died on Thursday afternoon shortly after four o'clock in her residence No. 945 Madison Avenue in East Defiance from a lung complaint. She leaves behind only the widower. Her remains were buried Sunday afternoon from the former residence in the Riverside Cemetery. Pastor F. A. Kiess officiated at the burial. Mrs. Devault had brought her age to 43 years, 7 months and 3 days.

Harvey M. Wood
Harvey M. Wood died on Monday morning in the residence of his son Webster H. Wood No. 901 Wilhelm Street from a complicated complaint at the age of 77 years, 6 months and 12 days. He was born on the 18th of March 1840 in Union County, Ohio and came young to Defiance, where he had lived ever since and up until a few years ago worked at machine construction. He leaves behind the widow, the aforementioned son, and the daughter Miss Grace Wood, still resident here. With them, many friends will mourn the death of this respected man. The burial took place Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock under the direction of Pastor C. E. Shields from the former residence in the Riverside Cemetery.

Mrs. Lucinda Myers
Mrs. Lucinda Myers, a born Schubert and widow of the Jacob Myers who died about four years ago, was taken from this time on Monday morning shortly after nine o'clock in the residence of her son Harmon A. Myers in Highland township at the age of 82 years, 3 months and 10 days. Two sons and one daughter survive her. The burial will take place Thursday morning in Myers Cemetery; the funeral service will be at 9:30 in the former residence and at 10 o'clock in the Highland Chapel.

Miss Catherine Hoover
Miss Catherine Hoover, born here and a lifelong resident here, died on Saturday evening about 7 o'clock in Indianapolis at the age of about 70 years. In her younger years she received her education in our public schools and later studied medicine, passed her examination (to be) a Doctor, and for many years had a good practice here. Her remains were brought to Defiance on Monday to the residence of the H. L. Brimsmade family, No. 630 Riverside Drive and on Tuesday afternoon under the direction of Dr. E. O. Crist buried from there in the Riverside Cemetery.

Martin A. Coressel
Martin A. Coressel, a son of Mr. and Mrs. John Coressel, died about Thursday noon on the old homestead in Adams Township at the age of 39 years. He was born in that township and had spent his entire lifetime there. A few days before his passing he fell out of a tree and suffered a few broken ribs, which in any case precipitated his death. He leaves behind the widow, a born Wagner, three daughters and a large circle of more distant relatives. Along with the family, many friends also mourn the premature death of this generally well-liked fellow. The burial took place Monday morning from the st. Michael's Catholic Church under the direction of Father E. Schmitz in the graveyard of the parish.

Mrs. Ursula Barbara Schaaf
Mrs. Ursula Barbara Schaaf, a born Vogel and widow of the late Peter Schaaf, passed away quietly in her sleep on Sunday evening shortly after 7 o'clock after a lengthy siege from a complicated complaint in her residence in North Richland. She was born in Butler County, Ohio, on the 23rd of June 1847, and thus had brought the time of her earthly pilgrimage to 70 years, two months and 16 days. On the 25th of April 1866 she married Mr. Peter Schaaf here, who preceded her in death on the 9th of February 1912. The happy marriage was blessed with three sons and three daughters. Of these, mourning the death of the faithful mother are sons Henry and William and daughters Mrs. Katherine Ruch and Miss Elisabeth Schaaf. The two daughters resided with their mother on the old homestead. The burial took place Wednesday morning in the Independence Cemetery, after Pastor Theo. Schwankovsky from Florida had held a funeral service at 9 o'clock in the former residence and at 10 o'clock in the Independence Church.
