Mrs. Francis Kettenring, a born Kahlo and wife of Mr. Peter Kettenring, passed away quietly in her sleep last Wednesday about half past one in the afternoon in the family residence on Perry Street. She had been sickly for a long time, and since she had been seriously injured in a fall on the 21st of October, her passing was just a matter of a short time.
Mrs. Kettenring was born on the 11th of November 1838 in Gutes Glück (Good Luck) in the Duchy of Anhalt, and thus had reached almost 78 years of age. On the 25th of October 1856 she married Mr. Peter Kettenring here and from then on had resided in Defiance until the time of her departure. Her passing is mourned by the elderly widower, the sons residing here Ransom P. and Charles H. Kettenring, the daughter also residing here Mrs. C. C. Hoffman and the daughter Mrs. T. T. Ansberry in Washington, D.C.
The burial took place Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the former residence in the Riverside Cemetery. Pastor E. O. Crist from the English Methodist congregation officiated.

Ethel May Blue
Mrs. Lawrence V. Blue, the only daughter of the county school superintendent W. W. Heater and his wife, died on Thursday morning about a quarter before 2 o'clock in the parental residence on East Second Street after an extremely long illness from tuberculosis. She leaves behind the widower, Lawrence V. Blue, a little daughter, the parents and three brothers John, William and Harmon. Her mortal remains were taken to the grave Saturday afternoon under the direction of Dr. Bailey in the Ayersville Cemetery.

Abram Spangler
Abram Spangler, a highly respected citizen of Evansport, died on Sunday morning in his residence there after a lengthy illness at the age of 79 years. He was born on the 30th of August 1836 in Ashland County, Ohio, and settled as a youth in Defiance county, where he had resided ever since. Surviving him is only the widow. The burial took place Tuesday afternoon under the direction of Pastor W. M. Clark from the Methodist Church in Evansport in the graveyard there.

Joseph Peter Seibert
Joseph Peter Seibert died on Thursday morning about 8 o'clock in his residence No. 325 Summit Street after a lengthy siege of stomach cancer at the age of 61 years. He was born in Adams Township and came to Defiance many years ago, where he then remained resident. Because he belonged to the city police for about the last ten years, he was fairly well known here. Surviving him are the widow, the daughter Pearl in the parental residence, the son Charles in Cleveland and the elder brother Christian in Toledo. The burial of his remains took place Saturday morning under the direction of Father J. A. Lane from the St. Mary's Catholic Church in the Riverside Cemetery.

Robert Speaker
In Houston, Texas, on Friday, Robert Speaker died, the eldest son of the Frank Speaker residing in Farmer Center. He was unmarried and had lived for many years in the South. The brother Curtis Speaker traveled to Texas on Saturday and will bring the remains hither for burial in the Riverside Cemetery.

Louis Gray Repp, son of James Repp, died on the previous Wednesday morning about one o'clock in the parental residence in Noble Township at the age of 21 years, 2 months and 8 days. The burial took place Friday afternoon from the Methodist Church on the Buckskin Road under the direction of Pastor J. C. Conent in the Clinker graveyard. The pallbearers were Guy Babinger, Earl Fritz, Noah Rehm, Daniel Rehm, Lester Rehm and Reed Rehm.

Frances Colwell
Frances Colwell, wife of Mr. Orlando Colwell and a born Todd, died on Saturday evening in the family residence No. 513 East Hopkins Street at the age of 67 years and 2 days, after she had been ill the entire winter. Surviving her are the widower and seven children; three children preceded their mother in death. The burial took place Tuesday afternoon from the former residence in the Hire graveyard in South Richland. Pastor W. C. Demuth officiated.

Sarah Louise Tomlinson passed away on Thursday about half past four in the afternoon in her residence No. 118 van Buren Street after a short illness at the age of 84 years, from pneumonia. She leaves behind the brother E. S. Walters, with whom she made her home, as well as the four sisters Mrs. D. A. Babbitt, Mrs. Olivia Fry, Mrs. A. C. Smith and Miss Emma Walters, who all reside here. Her remains were taken to the grave in Christian burial Sunday afternoon in the Riverside Cemetery.

Fred A. Parker
Fred A. Parker, who earlier resided in Defiance, then moved to Findlay and later to Toledo, died there on Tuesday about noon after a short illness at the age of 38 years. During his residence in Defiance he married Miss Anna Bohlmann, daughter of the widow Sophia Bohlmann. The spouse survives him with four children, one of whom was just born a few days ago. The remains were brought here Wednesday evening for burial. More specific information concerning the burial has not yet been received.
