Johann Peter Krause, died on Sunday afternoon in his residence No. 740 Ottawa Avenue after a few month illness from consumption of the larynx. He was born on the 8th of May 1851 in the province of Brandenburg and so had reached an age of 64 years, 8 months and 8 days. On the 7th of May 1878 in Rathenow on the Havel, Brandenburg province, he married Miss Auguste Heidepriem, who preceded him in death on the 13th of October 1912.
Since 1881 he has resided in Defiance and worked almost constantly for the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad, for the last few years as a crossing guard on Ottawa Avenue. Surviving him are the two daughters Mrs. Maria D. Klein and Mrs. Bertha Winters; the son Eduard and the daughters Mrs. August Bögert and Mrs. Fred. Dreher along with his wife preceded him in death. As far as we know, the deceased also had a brother still living, namely Wilhelm Krause in Hohen-Fergesar in the province of Brandenburg.
The burial took place Wednesday afternoon in the Riverside Cemetery, after Pastor H. Fosch had held a funeral service in the former residence and in the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church.

John W. Wisler
John W. Wisler, one of the oldest pioneers of Defiance county, died on Tuesday morning shortly before six o'clock in the residence of his son-in-law J. P. Cameron on Jefferson Street, from a heart complaint. He was born on the 27th of March 1830 in Pickaway county, Ohio, and came as a three year old boy to Tiffin Township, where he operated a farm for many years. For the last forty years he has resided here in the city. His wife Caroline, a born Breininger, whom he married in 1855, died in Defiance on the 7th of August 1909, and since then Mr. Wisler has had his home here with his daughters Mrs. J.P. Cameron and Mrs. Frank B. Sites. only these two daughters survive him; the other two daughters preceded him in death. The burial will take place Thursday afternoon at half past one o'clock from the former residence No. 643 Jefferson street to the Riverside Cemetery. Pastor E. D. Crist from the English Methodist congregation will officiate.

Hazel Schlosser
In Cleveland on Monday died the 24 year old Hazel Schlosser, wife of John C. Schlosser, Jr., hailing from Defiance, ?leaving behind the widower. Her remains were brought to Defiance on Wednesday and immeaiately buried in the Riverside Cemetery under the direction of the Presbyterian preacher David H. Johnson.

Donelda Hohenberger
Donelda Hohenberger, daughter of Mr. Andreas Hohenberger of south Richland and his wife Alma born Ort died on Thursday evening at 10 o'clock in Toledo in Flower Hospital, where on the afternoon of the preceding day an operation for appendicitis had been undertaken. On Thanksgiving day, the girl had gone with her grandmother Mrs. Adam Ort to Toledo on a visit with the Fred. Stoll family and became ill on the Monday after. The consulting doctor made his diagnosis of appendicitis and recommended the immediate performance of an operation. The operation was accomplished Wednesday afternoon, but did not have the desired success, since on Thursday evening death occurred. The parents arrived Wednesday evening in the sickroom of their daughter. The deceased was 13 years old in July of this year. surviving here are the deeply sorrowing parents, three brothers and one sister. The mortal remains were brought on Friday to the parental residence and on Sunday afternoon taken from there and the Zion English Lutheran Church here and laid in final slumber in the Riverside Cemetery. Pastor W. H. Shepser officiated at the burial. The family is offered sincere condolences.
The pallbearers at the burial were Marie Shepser, Beatrice Brechbill, Laurina Goller, Lola Povenmire, Mildred Greenler, Mabel and Edna Craig, Almeda Hire and Lela Decker. Sister Thomasine / Mary Höffel
Sister Thomasine, daughter of the married couple Isidor J. and Maria Höffel, died on Sunday evening shortly before nine o'clock after a lengthy and very painful illness here in the parental residence in East Defiance at the age of 29 years and 8 days. She was born in Defiance and resided here until her 18th year of life. Then she entered the cloister of the order of St. Agnes in Fond-du-Lac, Wisconsin, and was trained as a school-sister. She was faithful to this calling and last served in Houghton, Mich., when a nerve and stomach disorder forced her to enter a sanatorium in Rome City, Ind. Twelve weeks before her death, her mother brought her home. Remaining behind are the parents, the brothers Victor, Gerald, Augustus, Trevor and Harlan, as well as the sisters Mrs. Ray Richardson and Miss Julia Höffel of here, Miss Celia Höffel in Toledo, Mrs. Richard Weidenhammer near Junction and sister Rosemary in Unionport, New York.
The mortal remains were taken Monday morning to the convent of the St. John's Catholic congregation on Jackson Street and Wednesday morning from the Church of the mentioned congregation under the direction of Father Plumann buried in the Riverside Cemetery.
