Gottlob Seyfang
Gottlob Seyfang passed away on Monday morning about 10 o'clock in his residence on Henry Street in his sleep without a death struggle, after he had been stricken by a stroke on the Friday before. Born on the 25t of August 1844 at Schlath in the district of Göppingen, Württemberg, he spent his childhood and youth years in the Old Fatherland and immigrated with his parents in 1864 to this country, where he practiced agriculture on the South Ridge until the 7th of March 1883. Then he moved with his wife Anna Catherine, born Max, with whom he had been wed by the late Pastor Adam Detzer on the 18th of April 1870, to Defiance and completed here his earthly pilgrimage. Besides the widow left behind are one brother in the West, one sister in Fulton County and one sister in Toledo. The deceased belonged to the A.G.D. Sickness Support Society and was among its oldest members. His youthful years had given him dirty work, his old age many frailties, so we cannot begrudge him the journey Home.
The funeral service took place Wednesday morning at half past nine in the former residence and at 10 o'clock in the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church under the direction of Pastor F. A. Kiess, after which the mortal remains were buried in the family plot of the Adam Max family in the graveyard of the St. Stephan's Evangelical Lutheran congregation on the South Ridge.

Peter Doneyer
Peter Doneyer died Tuesday morning about half past 7 o'clock in the Defiance Hospital from a stroke attack without any previous serious illness.
