Alma Martha Henriette, daughter of the married couple Heinrich and Henriette Thieroff and wife of Mr. Wilhelm Palm, on last Wednesday afternoon shortly after four o'clock in the family residence No. 1002 Jefferson Street was carried away from this time by death. She was born on the 26th of October 1886 in Flatrock Township, Henry County. From Pastor C. Bose she received holy Baptism and she was confirmed after prior instruction by Pastor H. Diemer. On the 28th of November of the year past , under the direction of Pastor C. Schröder, she entered into holy Matrimony with Mr. Wilhelm Palm. Her illness was of a short duration, and there was nothing, after human reckoning, able to save her life. Just on the Sunday before her passing the specialist Doctor Duemling from the Lutheran Hospital in Ft. Wayne had been summoned for consultation.
The deceased leaves behind her widower, the sister Mrs. Johann Goller in South Richland, the brother Andreas in South Richland and the brother George in Flatrock. Both parents, one brother and one sister, preceded her in death. She had brought her age to 26 years, 6 months and 25 days. Her mortal remains were taken Saturday to the graveyard of the St. Stephan's Evangelical Lutheran congregation in Highland Township to the grave. The funeral service took place at 9 o'clock here in the former residence and at half past 9 in the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church under the direction of Pastor F. A. Kiess. Pastor C. Schröder officiated at the interment of the remains in the graveyard. The pallbearers were Andreas Trager, Frank Hohenberger, George Memmer, Rudolph Hollrich, Louis Bohm and Alva Hohenberger.
The widower and the other survivors would like herewith to offer heartfelt thanks to all the neighbors and friends for their Christian love shown for the dear departed and her (family) and for the many beautiful floral tributes.

Mrs. Maria Goller
Mrs. Maria Goller, a born Thieroff and wife of Mr. Johann Goller in South Richland, was on Wednesday evening of the previous week about 9 o'clock in the Lutheran hospital in Fort Wayne carried away from this time by death. On the 28th of May, accompanied by her husband she had entered the hospital and on the day after operated on by Doctor Duemling. At first it appeared that the operation would take a good course; but later complications set in , which in the course of a few days resulted in death.
Maria Goller was born on the 27th of March 1875 as the daughter of the married couple Heinrich and Henriette Thieroff. In her childhood she received the holy Baptism and at the customary age renewed her baptismal vows in the confirmation. On the 25th of May 1899 she married Mr. Johan Goller, who with two sons and one daughter survives. Remaining besides are the two brothers Georg and Andreas Thieroff. Both parents, one brother and two sisters preceded her in death -- the one sister Mrs. Alma Palm just on the 21st of May of this year. The mortal remains arrived here on the Wabash Railroad from Fort Wayne and were taken to the family residence in South Richland. There on Saturday morning at half past 9 o'clock and at half past 10 o'clock in the St. Stephan's Evangelical Lutheran Church the funeral service took place with a large attendance under the direction of Pastor C. Schröder, after which the remains were laid to rest in the graveyard of the congregation. Her pallbearers were Michael Trager, Heinrich Max, Christ. Grossmann, Johann Schlotterbeck, Franz Reichmann and Wilhelm Tröger. The many beautiful floral pieces were carried by Hermann Greenler, Adam Greenler, Ervin Ort and Elias Tröger.
To the surviving family, who have in her lost a faithful wife, mother and sister, we herewith offer our most sincere sympathy.
