Mrs. Stella Schultze, wife of Mr. Hermann F. Schultze and a born Williams, died on Tuesday morning about 3 o'clock in the family residence at 834 Harrison Ave. after a lengthy illness at the age of 57 years, 9 months and 12 days from tuberculosis. She was a faithful member of the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran congregation and of the Ladies Guild of that congregation and applied herself assiduously to church matters. She leaves behind the widower Hermann F. Schultze, with whom she was wed on the 11th of December 1902., the sons Carl and Clifford, the daughter Mildred and the parents R. P. Williams and wife, residing north of Evansport. The burial will take place Thursday afternoon at half past 1 o'clock from the former residence and at 2 o'clock from the st. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Pastor J. F. Lorch will give the English and Pastor H. Schult from Adams Township the German funeral sermon.

William A. Foss
William A. Foss, son of the late Adam and Maria Foss, died on Thursday in San Diego, California, in St. Joseph's Hospital as a result of the influenza. He was born here in Defiance on the 30th of July 1875 and resided for many years with his parents in Highland Township. Later he settled in California and in January 1917 after a short sojourn in Defiance moved back there again to follow his occupation of joiner. He had brought his age to 45 years and 13 days. Remaining behind are the brothers Carl in San Diego, Henry and J. E. of here, Adolph in Holgate and George in Highland Township, as well as the sisters Mrs. George Goller in Highland Township, Mrs. William Pfau and Mrs. Henry Pfau in Pleasant Bend, Mrs. Paul Diemer near Fraser, Mich., Mrs. Charles Pracht in Defiance and Mrs. William Okuley in Miller City, Ohio. The remains will arrive here Thursday and will be taken to the residence of the brother J. E. Foss on Osceola Street. The burial will take place in the graveyard of the St. Stephan's Lutheran congregation in Highland Township. The funeral service will be Friday afternoon at half past 1 o'clock in the residence of J. E. Foss and at 2 o'clock in the St. John's Lutheran Church here under the direction of Pastor F. A. Kiess.

James Leroy Killion
James Leroy Killion, infant son of the married couple Raymond and Margaret Killion, died on Sunday evening about 8 o'clock in the parental residence at 915 Washington Avenue from internal bleeding at the age of 1 month and 8 days. The parents and child were visiting relatives in the country during the day, and the death occurred, before a doctor arrived. The burial took place Tuesday afternoon under the direction of Father G. H. Lang from the St. John's Catholic Church in the Riverside Cemetery.

Margarethe Funk
Margarethe Funk, a born Böhm and wife of Mr. Jakob Funk, died Thursday afternoon about half past 1 o'clock in the family residence on Jackson Avenue after an illness of just a few days at the age of 73 years, 2 months and 7 days. She was born on the 12th of June 1847 in Drothenrath, Bavaria, and came young to this country. For the most part of her life she has resided here. She was married three times. At First with Friedrich Bethge, then with Heinrich Oestreicher, and since the 16th of November 1916 with Jakob Funk. The first two spouses preceded her in death, as well as the two children from her marriage with Mr. Bethge. Mourning her death with the widower are the sister Mrs. John Meister in Toledo and numerous other relatives. Her remains were taken to the grave Saturday afternoon from the former residence and the St. John's Lutheran church under the direction of Pastor F. A. Kiess in the Riverside Cemetery.
