Wilhelmine Tröger, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Heinrich Sauer and widow of J. Adam Tröger, died on Sunday morning about 8 o'clock in her residence in Highland Township after a lengthy illness at the age of 74 years, 1 month and 19 days. She was born in Pleasant Township and spent her younger years there. On the 26th of July 1865 she married Mr. J. Adam Tröger, who in the year 1903 preceded her in death.
Mourning her death are the seven children here listed: Miss Anna Tröger in Portland, Oregon; Ernst Tröger in Grass Lake, Mich.; Mrs. Elsie Fritz in Gresham, Oregon; Michael Tröger in Nebraska; Andreas Tröger, Eli Tröger and Mrs. Minnie Max in Highland Township. Also remaining behind are three grandchildren, three brothers and four sisters, as well as a large circle of more distant relatives. The deceased was a faithful and caring mother. She had much to suffer, especially in her last years; on that account we cannot begrudge her the entrance into rest. The burial took place Tuesday afternoon from the former residence and the St. Stephan's Evangelical Lutheran Church under the direction of Pastor C. H. Schröder in the old graveyard of the congregation.

Johann Schatz
In Johann Schatz, who passed away on Sunday evening shortly after half past seven o'clock in his residence in Highland township after a short illness, we have lost a good citizen and a faithful neighbor. He was born in this area on the 20th of July 1848 as son of Johann Heinrich and Anna Margaretha Schatz and had spent his entire lifetime among us. On the 15th of February 1886 he married the widow Minnie Sauer, who survives him. From this marriage resulted only the son Robert, who with his wife and four children resides on the old homestead. Of his nine siblings, the brother Heinrich and the sister Mrs. John Egler have died. The survivors are the brothers G. Christ., Adam and Wilhelm Schatz and the sisters Mrs. Margarethe Steinmaier, Mrs. Emma Fenter, Mrs. Nettie Fraker and Mrs. Frank Reichmann. They all still reside in this area. Mr. Schatz had brought his lifetime to 68 years, 8 months and 11 days. His illness lasted only about one day. Just on the Sunday before his death he had been able to take part in the Divine service. He came from one of the oldest and most respected German pioneer families of this area and leaves behind a large circle of relatives and friends, who wish eternal rest for him. The mortal remains were buried Tuesday afternoon with a large attendance and under the direction of Pastor C. H. Schröder from the St. Stephan's Evangelical Lutheran Church in the graveyard of the congregation.

The christian burial of the remains took place in Amherst on Wednesday afternoon. We wish herewith to offer our sincere sympathy to the sorrowing survivors.
