Peter W. Murphy died on Wednesday morning of the previous week about nine o'clock after only a two day illness, from an intestinal blockage, for which an operation had been undertaken without success. He was born on the 29th of June 1844 in Massachusetts, and settled many years ago in Defiance, where he acted for 25 years as superintendent of the Riverside cemetery. He leaves behind a widow, two daughters Mrs. J. E. Cogley in Garrett, Ind., and Mrs. E. B. Dils in Defiance, as well as the son Guy Murphy in the state of Colorado. The burial of the remains took place Saturday morning in the Riverside cemetery, after a funeral service was held by Father G..A. Brannigan in the St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Mrs. Priscilla Otto
Mrs. Priscilla Otto, a born Ziegler and the wife of August J. Otto, died on Monday afternoon about 3 o'clock in the family residence No. 812 Ottawa Avenue, after she had been ill since December of the previous year with gallstones and various complications, at the age of 62 years, 11 months and 3 days. Born on the 3rd of November 1850 in Richland county, Ohio, she had come already as a girl to Defiance. On the 30th of March 1876 she married August J. Otto, who survives her. Additionally left behind are the son Frank Otto in Centralia, Ill., the brothers Presley Ziegler in Ft. Wayne, Ind., Aaron Ziegler in West Unity, Ohio, Riley Ziegler in Plymouth, Ohio, George Ziegler in Wauseon, Ohio, and Ben. Ziegler in Detroit, Mich., as well as the sister Mrs. Angeline Thomas in Williams county. The deceased was known and respected in wide circles. she was a member of the German Women's Sickness Aid Society, the Ladies Relief and Benefit, and the White Swan Council.
The burial will take place Thursday afternoon in the Riverside cemetery. At twelve-thirty there will be a funeral service in the former residence and at one o'clock at the Church of the United Brethren on East Hopkins Street. Pastor W. C. Demuth will officiate.

Miss Anna Spring
Miss Anna Spring died Sunday morning about 3 o'clock at the age of 55 years in Flower Hospital in Toledo, where on the Sunday before she had gone through an apparently successful operation. Left behind are the sisters Mrs. Emma Conrad of here, Miss Tillie Spring and Mrs. Jay Frost in Toledo, as well as the brothers Louis and Frank Spring in Defiance. The remains were brought hither Sunday to the residence on Holgate Avenue and from there Wednesday afternoon under the direction of Pastor C. E. Shields buried in the Riverside cemetery.

Mary Elisabeth Ridenour
Mary Elisabeth Ridenour died on Tuesday about noon in the residence of Mr. E. L. Slough, No. 107 Downs Street, at the age of 53 years, 7 months and 14 days. Her remains will be taken Thursday morning to Paulding for burial and the funeral services will also be held there.

George Edward Kelley
George Edward Kelley, infant son of J. L. Kelley and wife, who reside at No. 817 Linden street, died on Saturday evening about 9 o'clock at the age of 2 months and 17 days from childhood cholera. The small remains were buried Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the former residence under the direction of Pastor W. C. Demuth in the Riverside cemetery.
Louis K. Miller died last Thursday afternoon shortly before 2 o'clock in his residence No. 116 Perry Street after a many month illness, from consumption. He was born in Defiance on the 2nd of January 1862 as the son of Adolph Miller and his wife, and had spent his entire lifetime here. On the 2nd of April 1884 he married Miss Josephine Young, who on the 5th of May 1907 preceded him in death. The deceased was janitor of the central city buildings for many years, and also many years a sanitation ?inspector. Left behind are his son Francis A. Miller in Tiffin, Ohio, and the three siblings Mrs. Tim DeBrular in Garrett, Mrs. Daley Krutsch in Chicago and Henry Miller in Peru, Indiana. L. K. Miller was a member of the local lodge of the National Union and the Fire Department. His remains were buried Saturday afternoon in the Riverside cemetery, after Pastor F. A. Kiess had held a funeral service in the former residence and in the cemetery chapel. He had brought his age to 51 years, 8 months and 16 days.
Michael J. Kirchner died on Tuesday of the previous week in Chicago, Ill., where he had worked as a typesetter, at the age of 53 years, 6 months and 14 days. He was born here on the 2nd of November 1862 as the son of the married couple Johann and Charlotte Kirchner and in the holy St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church baptized and confirmed. On the 29th of November 1883 he was married by Pastor G. M. Zucker to Miss Amelia Wiebach, who survives. Also left behind are his 87 year old mother, who lives in Chicago. His remains were brought hither Thursday to the residence of his brother-in-law Carl Wiebach and on Friday afternoon and from there under the direction of Pastor F. A. Kiess buried in the Riverside cemetery.
