Mrs. Bertha Sohn
Mrs. Bertha Sohn of Noble Township, a born Frey and wife of the late Johann Sohn, died suddenly of a heart attack on Thursday in Cincinnati, Ohio, where she had spent about three weeks visiting with her sister-in-law. She had thought to return home Saturday, to celebrate Christmas with her children, who received on Friday by dispatch the sad report of her sudden death.
Mrs. Sohn was born on the 23rd of November 1854 in Switzerland, and came to this country in her 25th year of life. She lost her husband on the 18th of November 1905 through a tragic accident, but through industry and thrift she made it from bitter poverty up to a nice home. Although never ill, she had in the past couple years complained occasionally of heart ?palpitations. She was a good-hearted mother, and the seven remaining children will miss her sorely. They are Karl, Albert, Johann, Christian, Wilhelm, Amelia and Elisabeth; besides, there are also four grandchildren.
Her mortal remains arrived here Sunday noon and were buried on Monday in the cemetery near Brunersburg. The funeral service took place at 9 o'clock AM in the residence in Noble Township and at 10 o'clock here in the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Pastor F. A. Kiess officiated.
