Fred Stever, Jr.
Fred Stever, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred S. Stever, died on Wednesday evening about 6 o'clock after a lengthy illness in a sanitarium in Woodburn, Ind., at the age of 17 years and 13 days. He was born in Defiance and attended the local schools, until prevented by his illness. Whatever medical science could do, was attempted to save his life, but sadly all in vain. In his free time the bright youth had industriously worked as a newspaper carrier and had with his savings bought stock in the Defiance Grocery Co. and the Merchants' National Bank, where his father is a teller. He belonged to the Yvetot Club and was well liked by all his comrades. His remains were brought hither on Thursday to the family residence and on Sunday afternoon from there buried in the Riverside Cemetery. Along with the parents, two sisters mourn the death of the boy for whom there had been such high hopes.
The Stever family, who have in the past few years suffered so many strokes of Fate, are receiving the most sincere sympathy from all.
