Obituary: Phyllis Lutrelle Weaks March 31, 1913 - May 14, 2001 Phyllis Weaks, 88, of Deshler died Monday evening at her residence. Born March 31, 1913, in Adrian, Mich., she was the daughter of Luttia and Lefa (Mead) Tuckerman. On May 25, 1966, she married Orville ‘Bill’ Weaks, who preceded her in death on May 6, 1982. She was a registered nurse and owned and operated the Rapids Nursing Home of Grand Rapids for 15 years, retiring in 1983. She is survived by three sons, Alan Brown of Delta, David Brown of Goshen, Ind., and Phillip Brown of Defiance; a daughter, Donna Brown; a brother, Bruce Tuckerman of Osseo, Mich.; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Earlene Oakes and Anita Kepner; a brother; and a grandchild. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Wright Funeral Home of Liberty Center, Rev. Ruth Deidrick officiating. Interment will be at Youngs Cemetery of Liberty Center. Visitation will be Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be made to the Kidney Foundation of Northwest Ohio.
